Marlins getting special music for Opening Night

Can't wait to hear the new theme song...

JUPITER, Fla. -- Opening Night at Marlins Park will have a special musical touch added to it.

The Marlins are forming a partnership with Emilio Estefan to create a big production for their April 4 opener against the Cardinals at Marlins Park.

Estefan, a 19-time Grammy Award winning producer, will produce the Opening Night festivities, along with a unique theme song, "Marlins Tonight."

Estefan and Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria will reveal more details during a Wednesday morning news conference at Marlins Park.

After 19 seasons as the Florida Marlins, the franchise has undergone a complete makeover.

They are now the Miami Marlins, and they're set to play in their retractable-roof ballpark, which has a capacity of 37,000.

The show is projected to take 43 minutes & according to Estefan it's going to be "emotional."

"Mr. Miami" Emilio Estefan promised a emotional show during the Miami Marlins Opening Day on April 4, when the team hosts the St. Louis Cardinals at their new ballpark.

"We've been thinking about this opening night for a long time," team president David Samson said, during a Wednesday press conference with Estefan. "It's not going to be an opening, it's going to be a show."

Estefan, who is producing the show, said his famous songstress wife Gloria will not be performing because she is booked in Las Vegas.

"He's not Mr. Marlins, he's Mr. Miami," Samson said of Estefan.

Jose Feliciano is slated to sing the national anthem and there will be tributes to bands that have a local connection like the Miami Sound Machine, the Bee Gees and Kasey and the Sunshine Band.

The 43-minute show will be filled with "emotional moments," Estefan said.

According to my sources the show will contain a lot of "surprises" that fans both inside AND OUTSIDE the stadium will be able to participate in.

Very interesting...So even if you don't have a ticket to the game you could still go chill outside the stadium & participate in the pre-game show.
