July 22, 201213 yr Carlos Lee got an "infield hit" in the 8th with the runner on second. Which is bull. Easily an error with his speed. LOL 2-30
July 22, 201213 yr Im so glad we changed our image and disregarded the past. This is MUCH better! I'd rather have a low payroll and suck than have a massive payroll and suck.
July 22, 201213 yr This season is full Fail. Does anybody else look back to openin night and at the time feel it might have been an omen of how the season would go?
July 22, 201213 yr This season is full Fail. Does anybody else look back to openin night and at the time feel it might have been an omen of how the season would go? No. I knew I wouldn't be there every night, even though as of 4/4/12 I was there for every regular season game.
July 22, 201213 yr Last 2 games: 22 hits, 4 runs (2 for 21 with RISP). Carlos Lee hitting .296 with RISP on the season. We need more Caballo's! Pretty sure were 1-30 RISP last 4 games?! Sorry, I messed up on the RISP stats. Last 2 games: 1 for 14 Last 4 games: 2 for 29
July 22, 201213 yr I really wonder what will happen at the deadline. All I know is we cannot have a fire sale.
July 22, 201213 yr I really wonder what will happen at the deadline. All I know is we cannot have a fire sale. We're investing in buying the Expos.
July 22, 201213 yr I don't understand Zambrano's fascination with walking pitchers. He likes to live on the wild side. Holly Came From Miami, Fla Hitchhiked Her Way Across The USA. Plucked Her Eyebrows On The Way Shaved Her Leg And Then He Was She - She Said: Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Candy Came From Out On The Island, In The Backroom She Was Everybodys Darling, But She Never Lost Her Head Even When She Was Given Head - She Said Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. And The Coloured Girls Go, Doo Dodoo Little Joe Never Once Gave It Away, Ev'rybody Had To Pay And Pay. A Hustle Here And A Hustle There New York City Is No Place Where They Said: Hey Babe, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Sugar Plum Fairy Came And Hit The Streets Looking For Soul Food And A Place To Eat Went To The Apollo, You Should Have Seen Him Go Go Go - They Said: Hey Sugar, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Jackie Is Just Speeding Away, Thought She Was James Dean For A Day Then I Guess She Had To Crash, Valium Would Have Helped That Bash - She Said: Hey Sugar, Take A Walk On The Wild Side, Said Hey Honey, Take A Walk On The Wild Side. And The Coloured Girls Go, Doo Dodoo Oldtimer came out of nowhere and posted a really crappy song. You kidding me? I'm 25 and I've always loved this song. Lou Reed man, come on now.
July 22, 201213 yr I really wonder what will happen at the deadline. All I know is we cannot have a fire sale. Reyes hasn't been great but the biggest problems this year are Hanley, gaby, buck, Johnson, and Bell. Gaby is done, maybe bell too but prob not with that contract, I think buck may be gone, Hanley at the right price. As for JJ not yet, he hasn't been horrible but he hasn't been our ace either. And we don't exactly have amazing starting pitchers lined up next year. I just hope that they go out and get the right proven and veteran talent to fix this team. * didn't mean to reply to my own post.
July 22, 201213 yr What's with all of this "fire sale" stuff? They're going to make individual decisions about who can help this ballclub and who should be dealt by the deadline or released/non-tendered/traded before next season, there's nothing wholesale about it. I don't have a problem with Ramirez and Bell going elsewhere, the sooner the better. Package up Zambrano, Anibal and Lee also for that matter, none are likely to be back. How about a core of Stanton, Bonifacio, Ruggiano, Reyes, Infante, LoMo, Buck, JJ, Buerhle, Nolasco, LeBlanc, Dunn, Cishek, Mujica, Choate, Webb, Hayes, Solano, Dobbs and Cousins. That frees up 33 million: 15.5 Hanley, 9 Bell, 8 Sanchez (what they'll pay him this year) and MLB minimum for Zambrano and Lee. That leaves 5 guys you need. A starter, a 3B, 2 relievers and a bench guy. You ought to be able to find an awfully good starter and an awfully good 3B for 30 mill, assuming that they want to hold payroll roughly constant. Dump Buck too, if anyone wants him, and Nolasco for that matter. Both replaceable, and for the same money it would be better spent.
July 22, 201213 yr People think everything is a fire sale, even if the guys you get rid of aren't even that good.
July 22, 201213 yr Captain hindsight? I called for all these problems since week one. The team was built with fatal flaws. Typical flashy names. No substance. We had one run producer in our lineup and he's hurt. Why buy a ton of table setters when we expect overrated crap like Lomo buck and Hanley to bring them in?

I guess the front office should hire you, since you can see with 100 percent accuracy which players will decline and others that will underperform

Nolasco and buck are making 17.5 million combined. Like are you f***ing kidding me.
July 22, 201213 yr Hey guys guess what, Coghlan seems to be doing better in AAA. Highest he has been all season, AAA or MLB. .297 BA / .382 OBP / .443 SLG / .825 OPS
