January 10, 201313 yr Author When Texas signed Berkman it meant both profar and Olt will be in minors again. What correlation does the Berkman signing have to do with Profar and Olt's position on a major league roster? Berkman will most likely DH or play first, neither spot which Profar or Olt would occupy. The reason they'd be in the minors would be because of Andrus/Kinsler and Beltre, respectively, and even then, they've had Olt in the outfield, I'm sure with Hamilton gone, they may try the same with Profar a little bit just to get him playing time.Ahhh cause Kinsler was moving to first and profar was gonna play 2nd. Not gonna happen now with them signing Berkman and Moorland sharing first and DH.

Like I said Profar has no spot right now. Also...@JimBowdenESPNxm: Jon Daniels told us that if Profar and Olt aren't starting for the Rangers, they'll be in AAA
January 10, 201313 yr OK then. If that's their decision, then you were correct. Anyhow ... nah. Let's keep him.
January 10, 201313 yr How do you keep guys that OPS .820 and .977 in AA in the minors for guys like Mooreland and Berkman? Especially in Olt's case. He's 24. Terrible decision. If I were a Rangers fan, I'd be pissed.
January 11, 201313 yr the whole concept doesn't make me happy - however, if there is talk about trade packages, should probably mention the one that is rumored to be what AZ agreed to before Upton invoked his no trade clause Apparently this is the base of the deal: One of Walker/Hultzen/Paxton Nick Franklin Charlie Furbush Stephen Pryor With Seattle looking for power and an outfielder they would have a natural interest in Stanton - especially when you consider his financial impact Given his salary, years of club control and my opinion that he's simply a better prospect than justin upton I would expect more in return than that .... however, with that as the framework is there a deal with Seattle that anyone would take?

Considering Stanton is worth considerably more than Upton, and THAT is what Seattle would give up for Upton... Yea, there's a deal they could offer that I'd listen to.
January 12, 201313 yr The Marlins better get Mike Jacobs back in a Seattle trade. It's not Jacobs' fault that he sucked here in the past!
January 12, 201313 yr Wouldn't surprise me if miami asked for zunino and that's where the deal broke down.
