Would u trade Stanton for...

Featured Replies

No

We might not get a better offer.

Than you go 4 more years with him in RF and trade him for what you can get or take the compensation pick.

If he's still hitting like he has in 2015 his value will hold.

I'm on the fence... By the time we are ready to compete Stanton will be outta here! When Texas signed Berkman it meant both profar and Olt will be in minors again. Both seem like future all stars... But then again I think Stanton is a once in ten year kinda player.

why don't we just trade ricky nolasco for profar and olt?

How many wins do Profar and Olt have again? It would take more than that.

Honestly, I think Texas has already made an offer for Stanton that includes Profar and Olt. There's a reason the rumors are so frequent, because a deal with these players and teams makes too much sense. But the bottom line is that's just not enough to move Stanton, not with 4 more years of club control. Now, if this were a Miguel Cabrera situation and he only had 2 years left and we know we can't sign him, then I would probably find it to be a fair offer. But since that's not the case, no, I don't make that deal.

When Texas signed Berkman it meant both profar and Olt will be in minors again.

What correlation does the Berkman signing have to do with Profar and Olt's position on a major league roster? Berkman will most likely DH or play first, neither spot which Profar or Olt would occupy. The reason they'd be in the minors would be because of Andrus/Kinsler and Beltre, respectively, and even then, they've had Olt in the outfield, I'm sure with Hamilton gone, they may try the same with Profar a little bit just to get him playing time.

I think the Marlins should just keep Stanton and build around him. If they are going to deal him, they should wait like they did for Cabrera and get a better return this time around.
