January 15, 201313 yr Attendance this season will probably be atrocious, there's no denying that. But, all jokes aside, do we realistically think Opening Day at least will have a decent crowd? I have a bad feeling the park will still be half empty on Opening Day, something I can't remember ever seeing in MLB. What do you guys think?
January 15, 201313 yr There is no question that opening day will be sold out. The Marlins have shown in the football stadium that they can consistently draw crowds in the high 30s and low 40s even for rosters that weren't very promising. The ballpark is still new so people will come. Game 2 is another story.
January 15, 201313 yr I would be surprised if it isn't a sell out or at least nearly one on Opening Day
January 16, 201313 yr Hardcore fans boycotting the season won't hurt opening day, it should be at least close to a sellout... games 2-81 on the other hand, things could be rough. At least after the first two homestands, things will take a dive.
January 16, 201313 yr I know of a couple of guys who are huge Marlins fans who will boycott the team as long as Loria is running the team. I've read some others who are doing the same thing in the comments section of the articles posted in the Herald, Sunsentinel and PB Post.
January 16, 201313 yr If I attend a game that would be the one. I plan to watch them at home. Sorry but I'm in the group who does not want to give Loria my money.
