April 9, 201313 yr Most awful opening night I can remember...worse than last year. Felt like an eternity. I hope they hand cyanide pills at the ballpark tomorrow. I may be tempted to take one halfway through the game. Got tickets for Wednesday night too. In fairness, it got exciting at the end...but as they say: Close but no Cigars.
April 9, 201313 yr Braves did what they're supposed to do which is take care of a much weaker team. good outing from Slowey though.
April 9, 201313 yr This was the game were supposed to win. Wonder how many parks ruggz ball woulda been a HR. 1-8 time
April 9, 201313 yr Author I want to end the night on a positive note: I love the Marlins, and I always will. Go Fish!!!
April 9, 201313 yr I really don't know what to say, other than I thought it would be bad, but this is ridiculous. Seriously did Loria really think this was a credible team to field ?
April 9, 201313 yr Author Mike Redmond will be hot seat if we go 5-21 Will you stop repeating that? Who else do you think could turn this team around? No manager could turn a team like this one into a winning team. It is not Mike Redmond's fault. He's doing his best out of a bad situation. Do you honestly think you could do better? I doubt that very much.
April 9, 201313 yr we not good team like alot people were us expect to be wrost team in mlb this type team we cannot beat anyone untill start hitting

I doubt that very much. I agree. However, he did do one thing that wasn't too bright. It was for the infield in thing he did with Cishek the other night when he blew the game. The move went against ALL conventional wisdom, and if the 3b was in the proper position, it's extremely unlikely that ball gets out of the infield.
April 9, 201313 yr Mike Redmond will be hot seat if we go 5-21 For anyone making fun of my spanish, I don't speak it.... at all. But sometimes you need to bust it out to get a point across. April 9, 201313 yr Author we not good team like alot people were us expect to be wrost team in mlb this type team we cannot beat anyone untill start hitting We get it. I don't think anyone expected us to be a good team. But this is what we have whether we like it or not i not sure how this be fix hitting coach having night mare Not his fault either. All they can do is try to make the best out of a bad situation. Loria is squarely to blame for this joke. PS: A word of advise. Try to say something positive once in a while. The constant negativity can get old fast. I'm as fed up as everyone else is, but I'll try to compliment the team when we do something right, even it it's not much.

Hopefully it was just a one time thing and he'll be on top of things from now on.
April 9, 201313 yr Well our pitching which I figured would be crap has been pretty good. Our hitting is pretty bad though. Great play but Hech on that ball down the 3b line.
April 9, 201313 yr The pitching was solid and worked of put of some jams. But this offense is horrific. Ground ball after ground ball. With whatever money they had to spend the marlins went and signed Pierre and Polanco. Two guys with absolutely no power for a team that already had no power. This was basically a replay of opening night. I think if the roof had been closed that ball would have been out or at least over uptons head. Already 5 games out lol.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that ball would have been out with the roof closed and probably at a lot of other parks. Thems the breaks.
April 9, 201313 yr Well, on a positive note, it appears that Stanton won't be getting all that much in arbitration so maybe he will be with the Marlins for an extra year.
April 9, 201313 yr Author If Loria doesn't move in the walls, whomever owns the team afterward probably will. If we are going to field teams with lack of power, we need all the help we can get.
April 9, 201313 yr Author Well, on a positive note, it appears that Stanton won't be getting all that much in arbitration so maybe he will be with the Marlins for an extra year. We'll see. The kid might go on another May tear and carry the whole team on his back. He is usually pretty cold, but when he gets those hot periods, the kid is a monster. Last year it was May and September. We'll see what happens this year. I just wish he was more consistent.
April 9, 201313 yr If they were both healthy, i would move kouzmanoff to third and silverio to left with Pierre platooning. Solano to the bench and Polanco to second.
