I went to the game today and I have to honesty say that this was the lowest day in Marlins Park history. First of all, there were probably only around 7,500 fans there today, and 1/3 of them were Braves fans. They were so loud with their stupid tomahawk gestures that it got annoying.

Unfortunately I was seated in the middle of a pack of Braves fans, and had a bunch of kids throwing candy at me because I was a Marlins fan. After politely asking the parents to control their children, I was then subjected to a bunch of insults, which caused me to have to get up and move somewhere else.

By the 6th inning the Marlins fans were leaving. By the time we got to the 7th inning stretch, there were around 5,000 people left, and probably 1/2 were Braves fans. I couldn't take it anymore and just left.

The team was pathetic, and the experience was pathetic. I don't even know if I want to go to another freaking game this season.

I was watching on TV and the seats down the right field line actually looked pretty full. The lower bowl at least.

But tell us about your gun and the stick that beat the cat that ate the dog that father bought for two zuzim.

There was hardly anyone in the top decks. Even the lower bowl wasn't that full. Some spots were decent, but there were some gaps even in the lower bowl.

Can someone start a "Miami_Marlins_fan's day at the ballpark" thread?

Only if Marlins posts the photos.

"Ooh, yeah, look at that miserable fan. That's how I like it! Covered in candy, oh yeah!"

Calm down bro. We're only 1-8.

Sorry for being so upset, but I actually give enough of a damn about this team to have higher expectations from them. I knew we would be bad, but so far they've gone out of their way to be worse than most of us were expecting.

Photos from Miami_Marlins_fan's personal instagram account of course.

What do you want? Pictures of me at the game? I didn't bring a camera, but I can post a picture of my ticket if you'd like.

Are we having a thread for this every night?

I hope so, I am looking forward to sequels.

Not really. I think I'm done going to games for the season.

I probably shouldn't have posted anything, but this team has really gotten me down. We should be better than that. I know we are better than that. I'm just really ticked off with the results so far.

I wanted us to shut those Braves fans up, and instead all we got was a bunch of stupid tomahawk gestures as we went down in flames.

You shouldn't have moved.

You should of got up, yelled "s**t is about to get real!", and rushed those Braves fans Gaby Sanchez-style.

Was at the game and I was one of four Marlins fans in my section. The Braves fans I sat around were very polite and good conversation pieces. Sat near three guys playing that one game (don't know the name) where you put a dollar in the pot when, at the end of the inning, if the ball doesn't stay on the mound, you put a buck in the pot. Good baseball people, despite their taste in team. They cheered for the Braves while I cheered for the Fish. We exchanged some well mannered and all in good fun boos and hisses towards each other then laughed about it.

Despite it being a sh*tty game for us, and despite me having to sit through their chops (which I thought they deserved to do considering they dominated us and won), it was a decent time for me and my friend that I went with in that regard. In another regard, I had to sit through another 9 innings of this team which is absolutely hopeless.

The ballpark atmosphere tonight, unlike opening night, wasn't too bad considering it wasn't opening night and I wasn't expecting the fanfare and events that should have been there opening night and weren't. The atmosphere was fine, the product on the field sucked. That's what you can expect going to a Marlins game this year.

If you sat near a few kids who pissed you off, get over it. It's not like you had nowhere to move because it was a sellout. Move seats and watch the rest of the game. They're kids.

I'm over it now. I took it harder than I should have because I was already pissed off with the way the game was going, so it took very little to take me over the edge. Seventeen years of supporting this team only to watch this is BS all over again is not easy. We hardly ever catch a break as Marlins fans. I hope this is not worse than the 1998 team, but i have the feeling it will be even worse (as hard as that is too believe.) But as sour as I am about it all, at least something good may come out of this. It may turn out to be another addition to the pile of stuff that eventually forces Loria to sell...hopefully.

Sorry about your problems last night, no paying marlins fan should be subject to that type of bullshit. Then the marlins lose 8-0, that just adds insult to injury. I dont think the marlins could give away tickets

Swinging and missing with a bat and falling ass first on a syringe full of sea otter testosterone?

The fact there were plenty of seats he could move to is not the point, he shouldn't have had to after asking the parents to control their brats.

The whole "kids will be kids" excuse is a poor one because many kids are perfectly capable of behaving themselves in public. It all comes down to parenting, which judging by their reaction to MBF's request, is unsurprisingly lacking.

Crappy, ignorant, entitled parents will raise crappy, ignorant, entitled kids unless someone puts those kids in their place from time to time (since their "parents" won't).

I would have had the ushers either move them or throw 'em out for violating the Guest Code of Conduct, which based on the events of Opening Night, shouldn't have been too difficult. ;)

There's nothing funnier than frustrated sports fans. :D
