December 5, 200322 yr OK, I know I am getting the Series DVD for Christmas, but I am impatient and have started watching the games I videotaped...Now that the Series is over a month behind us, what moment stands out in your mind as the most memorable or exciting..It doesn't have to be the most pivotal but the first thing that makes you proud this team kicked butt... For me: Game 4 - Rocket Vs Cabrera 1st Inning Recap: Clemens final starting performance... 2 outs in 1st, Pudge on 1st, the Kid up to bat...Rocket brushes him back with high heat, Cabrera stares back...After fouling off some pitches, Cabrera the 20 year old rookie issues payback in his first ever at-bat against the Rocket... The Exciting Moment: Cabrera dumps a Clemens offering into right field for a 2 run shot... To me that showed the future of this team..Yeah, re-signing Castillo , Lowell, and hopefully Pudge are big priorities for this team's success, but as far as 5 years from now, Cabrera is the guy to build around offensively and he showed exactly why in that at-bat... Honorable mentions: Sea Bass Home Run Game 4 - 12th inning.... and Beckett tagging Posada to end it...
December 5, 200322 yr :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup Ruben Sierra's clutch triple. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :rock
December 5, 200322 yr I have to say that the best World Series Moment was Cabs' homer off Clemens. Youngs beats old, great beats great.
December 5, 200322 yr I can't choose just one.... ? Game 4 - Alex hits that homer. I got so emotional, I had tears of joy! ? Game 4 - Cabs hits a run off of Clemens. Holy s***! ? Game 6 - Josh tags the last out and we win. I was crying, screaming, jumping up and down! It was amazing...
December 5, 200322 yr There were a lot of moments that I enjoyed... - Sea Bass and his amazing slide in i think game 4 - Sea Bass' Game winning "hooking" homerun - Beckett's masterful performance in Game 6 - The 9th inning of Game 5 was pretty neat. DLee's nifty D....gonna miss that
December 5, 200322 yr well i got 2 moments really, one of them was way before game 3 started i was driving home excited to watch the game and then it hit me that a world series game was being played in Miami again. that really got to me the other moment game 4, Looper goes in the 11th with the bases loaded i believe and 1 out and got the two biggest outs of his career and then Alex came in the 12th and did what absolutely no one (including myself) thougth he would do
December 5, 200322 yr bernie williams' deep flyout in game 5 almost caused me to drop dead from a heart attack
December 5, 200322 yr I'm worried we won't be able to afford Cabrera in 5 years...hes going to be incredible.
December 5, 200322 yr "the slide" and Looper striking out boone and getting out of the bases loaded jam with 1 out, and of course Alex's walk off home run. So many memorable moments from the playoffs. All three series' were so intense. The game that sticks out in my mind is game 3 of the NLDS. Which I was lucky enough to attend. The incredible catch by Conine early in the game, and then giving up a run in the 11th just to score 2 in the bottom with Pudge's dramatic single. The feeling inside the stadium during that moment was incredible.
December 5, 200322 yr i f***ing bruised my ankle from banging it against the seat in front when Pudge held on to the ball in game 4 against SF. game 3 against the Giants was classic (i still cant believe i left early, LAST time i ever take my sister to a ball game) game 1 against Chicago was also a classic, back and forth the entire game. i almost dropped dead there game 5 against the Cubs with Beckett... greatest pitching performance ive ever seen in person the bartman inning in game 6. i didnt celebrate or anything as they scored those 8 runs, i just stared at the tv with my mouth open in complete disbelief, the whole inning. it was incredible game 7 and the list goes on and on
December 5, 200322 yr oh i also remember the 2 idiots that thought the middle of game 2 agaisnt the giants was the best time to call to conduct a survey
December 5, 200322 yr Still hard for me to believe, but Alex's walk off HR in Game 4 left me totally shocked. All I could tell was the ball disappeared in left field. I waited for a few seconds for it to show up somewhere until I realized it made it out. It seemed like an eternity, but must have taken the crowd 5 seconds to realize what just happened. No doubt that at-bat by Alex turned the series and the momentum into our favor. I'm still in shock. :o :o :o
December 5, 200322 yr I don't know many times I have cried during the WS. The Marlins are just so magical, I can't put words together to descibe those special moments.
December 5, 200322 yr Author I also have to add the partying after Game 6...I was at a bar here in PA and it was filled with Yankees haters and of course I had my away jersey and hat on, so the whole place was cheering with me..After Beckett's tag, we all did a huge "SOCIAL!!!!!" and started chugging...I bought another pitcher and some of my friends were buying me shots of Jager and Cuervo Gold...Great night... and of course, I found a minute after the win to phone my parents...My Dad is a converted Marlins fan (he doesnt cheer for the Phillies anymore), and my mom loves baseball (she played in softball leagues a lot when I was little) but never followed major leagues much (She thinks Pudge is da bomb and hopes he stays in Miami!!)..Both my mom and dad followed every game of the post-season...That's all we talked about was the Marlins after every game (my phone bill was high but you know what....?...Talking Marlins post-season with my folks every night?..PRICELESS!!!!)
December 5, 200322 yr The night we won, I grabbed my Pudge shirt and put it on, grabbed my Marlins car flag and went down the street to cheer with fellow fans. I walked down to 49th street. It was crazy and amazing! I'll never forget it. I went back home and had a beer with my mom.
December 5, 200322 yr I don't know many times I have cried during the WS. The Marlins are just so magical, I can't put words together to descibe those special moments. i almost cried when i thought i was gonna have to call 911 for chest pains and shortness of breath
December 5, 200322 yr when Josh tagged Posada i stared at the tv for a few seconds actually thinking "its over?" and then when it hit me i started jumping up and down screaming for i dont know how long. called my grandpa, went out with my dad for a few minutes and just couldnt stop smiling for the rest of the night. i wish my grandpa lived with us this time, i wouldve jumped on him like last time, maybe even carry him since im bigger now. what a night
December 5, 200322 yr BTW, I found 1 video store in Miami renting the Official Marlins DVD and they also have a bootleg DVD of game 7...place is called Siroa Video on 16th Ave and W. Flagler Street
December 5, 200322 yr And how about when Beckett blew that high fast ball past Jeter for a SO, in what the 7th inning of Game 6. Jeter just stood and stared in amazement. You knew at that point the Yankees were cooked.
