April 10, 201412 yr From Frisaro's blog: * Why Marmol over A.J. Ramos? Ramos had pitched the night before, and obviously, he’s throwing the ball very well right now. But until Wednesday, Marmol had thrown four scoreless innings. Marmol was signed for such nights like Wednesday, to lock down the seventh or eighth innings. Marmol got into trouble initially when his slider struck pinch-hitter Nate McLouth on the foot. As Marmol noted, McLouth made no attempt to get out of the way. But no umpire is going to penalize the hitter in that situation. But had he tried to duck out of the way, the result would have been a ball, and not the tying run on base with one out. Big moment.
April 10, 201412 yr I think we need to wait at least 30 games before we'll know what type of team this will be. It's a "better than last year's team" type team already. That went 1-10 and had Pierre, Coghlan, Polanco, Brantly and Kotchman in it. Shudder.
April 10, 201412 yr We hung in this game. I don't get why we are all upset. We took leads. we did what we were supposed to do. If we win today then this will be a fine series. We will last nights game at home. I think honestly if this team is to be good we need to only go .500 away and play out of their mind at home. which to be fair I think can be done.

Big moment. is this for real? FOUR scoreless innings already? Nevermind then that's enough for me sir! All those HBP and miserable walk rates probably aren't even accurate since they're not in the past 4 innings. Sweet mary I can't let go of this. Please win today.
April 10, 201412 yr Frisaro really is a moron. He once put up a point on Twitter, and I sent in two tweets to back him up, and he got mad at me for it. I kid you not. He eventually blocked me, too. Here's what happened. It was after the 2012 All-Star game, NL shut out the AL. He made a tweet about how the NL could probably realistically win for a few years in a row due to their pitching and he couldn't see why people would disagree with it, considering the NL had allowed just one run in 2011 and 2012 all-star games. I tweeted in saying, "only one run in 2010, as well." His response: "further proving my point." I also added on, "not only that, the 2010 run allowed was unearned." Joe: "Stop it, point is made already." Well, sooorryyy for backing you up.
April 10, 201412 yr And he is blaming McClouth for not trying to duck out of the way. Rookie. Maybe Marmol shouldn't be throwing three feet too far inside. But he was signed for situations like this so just leave him in when he is obviously not being affective and lose the game. Never liked Frisaro. Even the few times I saw him or met him in the press box he was an asshole. He gets paid by the FO to do his job so of course you can expect him to defend most of their decisions. Whether he truly believes them to be right or not.
April 10, 201412 yr The team last year lost 100 games. I'm not sure why any fan should be happy simply because it's not last year's team. Who cares? If they improve by 20 games (probably unlikely), they can go 82-80 and it'd be pretty irrelevant, as well. The "this is a different year" stuff should stop soon, I hope. I think that everybody understands that this team is better than last year's. It really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. It's like saying that having a diarrhea is better than constipation. Whoopty-doo.
