Yes but that is just lame....so he could give up 100 homers in that inning and none would be charged to him?

It's generally how it is. If the error causes a batter to come up that shouldn't have had an at bat, and he drives in a run, it's unearned.

Oh I only had reed in mind because I know everyone hates dobbs.
