canada-marlin24
Blow a save and get shut out by Dillon Gee. Keep losing division series guys. Looking good.
dom2613
I'm confused. Posts here and there about wc standings and people seem surprised when we lose. We're gonna lose a pretty good amount. Just hope we don't suck as much as we did last year.

Michael
That kind of stuff drives me up a wall. You wonder if they even pay attention. Oh I remember a few years ago being absolutely livid with someone. Can't remember who, but the pitcher walked a pair on 8 straight pitches (yes, 8 straight out of the zone), and then after a visit to the mound by the catcher and pitching coach, whoever batted next swung at the first pitch and hit into a double play. When I played optimist and in an adult league in 2009/2010, if the pitcher walked the guy in front of me on 4 or 5 pitches, I was taking the first pitch (which I usually did, anyways, as I was lead-off). Hate it when people don't just, THINK sometimes. Like yesterday, Garrett Jones was the reason we went down 4 instead of down 3 when the Mets took a 5-1 lead [in my opinion]. He makes a sliding catch on a generally routine play (for a good first baseman, anyways), and ends up getting the out at first rather than second. Of course that runner who reached second ended up scoring! Our infield defense is so shitty this year.
SongInTheAir
Our infield defense is so s***ty this year. Â But what about perennial Gold Glove winning All Star shortstop Adeiny Hechevarria? The eye test says he's the best fielder in baseball history. #uufff #hechofaplay #He'sOurGuy

We have been better at taking pitches but in my opinion, if you are behind in the count, you have the green light. But if its 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, no green light. Make the pitcher throw a strike!! 1-1, 2-1, 3-1.....swing away. But clearly they dont listen to me. Twice today Yelich swung at 2-0 pitches out of the zone. Mets_bs
From one crappy offense to another, at least there will be a nice breeze at games this year. That was a painful series to watch.
Guest Vince0926
I know all of us pretty much think we don't have a chance vs Atlanta but if we sweep them , what will you guys think?

That we got lucky or that we played a really good series (or both). Sweeping a good team doesn't mean you are a better team than they are. pollythewog
We have a good chance to take the ATL series IMO (dunno bout a sweep). We have the better starting pitchers going
Admin
We're also better at home this year so far so there's that

pollythewog
What's pretty hilarious about the fish benching DD because of his defense is Adeiny's UZR/150 is actually worse than Dietrich's.

pollythewog
Also of note DD OPSd at .786 lefties last year while Jones career OPS against lefties is like 500 something (current season sub .400) yet DD gets benched against them and Jones plays every day. The fish misunderstood the coaching advice this spring. Instead of hitting it where they ain't, they are swinging the bat where the ball ain't.
