SilverBullet
If the Nats replace Clippard with Bell I'll see u all at the championship parade this fall.
fanofthefish
I thought he was traded to the A's for Jaso and prospects?
Michael
Title should say Nats. Someone fix this!
Wild Card
Why would the Nats need Escobar?
SilverBullet
Why would the Nats need Escobar? Ian Desmond doesn't look to be sticking around beyond this season and Escobar can improve the Nats at second base until then.

Making it likely he also doesn't stick around beyond this year? He's also coming off a season which he was worse than Hech, so idk how much he's going to improve them but hey Tyler Clippard is gone so who cares... Escobar is under contract for 2016 with an option for '17. If he plays second hes an upgrade over Danny Espinosa who the Nats have all but given up on. SilverBullet
Also, something I've always wondered and since its now happened on two separate occasions with Escobar. ... Does Escobar still get listed as a former Marlin and Athletic since he never actually wore either uniform before being traded? Just a quirk I've often contemplated ...anyone know the answer? I'm going to say yes, since there are records of him being traded by those teams despite never putting on the uniform.

If the team in question doesn't appear on your latest baseball card, you were never really there.

Wild Card
Yeah, but internet. It's on record SOMEWHERE. Lets let baseball reference settle it. They show a jersey number and colors for every team someone played for. If they put a little jersey circle thingy then it counts. If they don't then it doesn't! Agreed? Michael
No, because even on baseball-reference: It's on record, despite the fact they never played a game for the team.
