December 8, 200322 yr Exactly. Jorge Posada, anyone? If the Yankees don't start Kenny Lofton, Bernie can play left, matsui center, and sheff at right. that leaves the DH, 1b and C spots. Posada and or giambi can be 1st or DH (posada can play some infield) and I-Rod can catch. I Rod can also get a lot of rest and DH as well, have posada catch, and have giambi play first. It would work very well, extending the careers of all three players by a lot. However, its expensive, the yanks already spent so much such a move would be overkill, and what about john flaherty, because he's signed. A 3rd back up? Maybe. Nevertheless, the move would make some sense.
