June 9, 201511 yr Oh I got confused. Morris was for the 39th. Now I'm super confused. How did the astros get the pick? the marlins got Morris from the Pirates.

June 9, 201511 yr anyway i think we agree that the bryan morris trade was stupid? ehhh i wouldn't have done it but most 39 picks turn out to be nothing. morris was great last year and gave us more than most number 39 picks ever gave their team
June 9, 201511 yr ehhh i wouldn't have done it but most 39 picks turn out to be nothing. morris was great last year and gave us more than most number 39 picks ever gave their team Morris was lucky as hell though. It was 40 innings. Brad Hand pitched well for 20ip. there was nothing about morris that should have made the fish FO think he was worth a damn. The current bryan morris is the real bryan morris
June 9, 201511 yr 2010 39- anthony ranaudo 2009 39- kentrail davis 2008 39- lance lynn 2007 39- james adkins 2006 39- david huff 2005 39- henry sanchez 2004 39- jay rainville 2003 39- anthony gwynn 2002 39- mark teahen

June 9, 201511 yr Morris was lucky as hell though. It was 40 innings. Brad Hand pitched well for 20ip. there was nothing about morris that should have made the fish FO think he was worth a damn. The current bryan morris is the real bryan morris Bryan morris might not have been as good as he was last year, but he is still a quality bullpen arm when healthy.
June 9, 201511 yr 2010 39- anthony ranaudo 2009 39- kentrail davis 2008 39- lance lynn 2007 39- james adkins 2006 39- david huff 2005 39- henry sanchez 2004 39- jay rainville 2003 39- anthony gwynn 2002 39- mark teahen Joey Gallo was a 39th overall
June 9, 201511 yr Bryan morris might not have been as good as he was last year, but he is still a quality bullpen arm when healthy. Disagree completely.
June 9, 201511 yr The 39th was from Marlins in the BMo deal. no it wasn't that draft that pick wa traded was the 2014 draft. the pirates drafted a guy who has a .573 ops in low a ball.
June 9, 201511 yr Disagree completely. 2.84 career ERA and an OK WHIP and a 2.2 WAR for his career.
June 9, 201511 yr no it wasn't that draft that pick wa traded was the 2014 draft. the pirates drafted a guy who has a .573 ops in low a ball. Yes, read incorrectly. Gracias.
June 9, 201511 yr 2.84 career ERA and an OK WHIP and a 2.2 WAR for his career. 2.2 according to BR. Fangraphs has him -1.2 which is more accurate considering his shitty k/bb rates
June 9, 201511 yr 2.2 according to BR. Fangraphs has him -1.2 which is more accurate considering his shitty k/bb rates This is why people don't trust WAR. How the fuck is it a 3.4 difference between two sites?
June 9, 201511 yr This is why people don't trust WAR. How the fuck is it a 3.4 difference between two sites? BR actually has WAR and then WAAadj which is for RPs. The WAAadj ist more closer to the fangraphs #
June 9, 201511 yr This is why people don't trust WAR. How the fuck is it a 3.4 difference between two sites? Bryan Morris's career so/bb rato is 1.77. He sucks.
June 9, 201511 yr Bryan Morris's career so/bb rato is 1.77. He sucks. I get that, but still. Bluh! How do you get two completely different numbers for what is supposed to be the same stat?
June 9, 201511 yr This is why people don't trust WAR. How the fuck is it a 3.4 difference between two sites? Great link: http://www.baseball-reference.com/about/war_explained_comparison.shtml
June 9, 201511 yr The big diff b/t fangraphs and BR is fangraphs WAR is FIP based hence the dramatic difference
