June Draft

Featured Replies

With the draft a couple of weeks away I'm curious to see the opinions of this forum on whom the Marlins should take with the 12th pick.  Thoughts? Opinions?

Ideally, the best talent available and not the one who will sign for the least.

How nice would Rodon look in our rotation now and in the future?

I think we really need a top of the rotation arm preferably from the college ranks.  Someone that isn't 4 years away.  Not sure one will be there at 12 though.

TBH rodon isn't going to help this train wreck this year so the fish may have gotten away with an okay move by going with the higher upside (kolek) lower cost (lol) guy.

Hitting hitting hitting.  Read buster Olneys piece on Epstein and Cherington and how they are approaching building a team now a days.  Gotta develop your own young hitting these days since pitching is so dominant all over the league.

But knowing the Marlins we will take the best talent available for the price we are willing to pay, which is a lot different than best talent available

This club needs pitching

Id like to take a chance on Brady Aiken

Not at 12.  There should still be plenty of live , strong, healthy arms at that spot.

he has potential to be a ace so frak yeah I'd take a chance on him at 12.. He was #1 overall pick not to long ago and yes he got hurt but I'd so take the chance.

Although I was in favor of taking a  pitcher earlier this month, I'm now hoping we take Ian Happ at  #12 tonight.

I'd love to get Daz Cameron, former Marlin Mike Cameron's son.  Don't think he'll be available bit it'd be nice.

PHI or CIN will take him, but yeah I'd love for us to grab him if available. Not a big fan of drafting HS guys, but if he's anything like Mike, he'll be fine. Hoping Walker Buehler or Brady Aiken, although Aiken at 12 would be a huge reach.

Another Bour type player. Dude looks slow.

What at the hell is up with these high school players? Get some college players.
