February 23, 201610 yr Im sure some of y'all have heard that a class action lawsuit was brought up against MLB. A proposed settlement has been brought forward to allow that reduces the Price of MLB.tv and Extra Innings, allows for MLB.tv and other providers to sell single game packages starting around 85 bucks for MLB.tv but providers are not obligated to sell these packages. There also a couple other things that apply but these are the major points. One thing that I don't understand is the Fairness Hearing isn't until the end of April. How will this be implemented a month into the season. I can't remember when MLB.tv and extra innings starts advertising but it should be pretty soon since sprin training is started up. Any one have any ideas. I like what they are offering.
February 23, 201610 yr I have no clue what's going on. I heard about them lifting blackout restrictions but there also rumors that single team packages will be offered.

February 23, 201610 yr Both are happening from what I understand. Any ideas on rates? I hope that with the single team package you will have the option to choose the opposing team's feed. I will need to do that when Preston Wilson is in the booth.

MLB will be prohibited from increasing the price by more than 3% (or the federal Cost of Living Adjustment ("COLA"), if higher) per year through 2020. • For the 2016 and 2017 MLB seasons, Comcast and DIRECTV will provide the full season MLB Extra Innings product at a 12.5% discount from the 2015 price. • Increased Availability • Single-Team Packages: MLB will offer packages of single teams' out-of-market games through MLB.TV (for example, a stream of just the Kansas City Royals' games for out-of-market subscribers). This product will cost $84.99 for a full season in 2016, with MLB allowed to raise the price by no more than 3% (or COLA, if higher) for each of the next four years. MLB has also agreed to make this option available to Comcast and DIRECTV so that they may offer seasonal packages of single team games for each and every MLB Club available throughMLB Extra Innings, although Comcast and DIRECTV are not obligated to offer such packages. • Follow Your Team: MLB will allow all MLB.TV purchasers who subscribe to Comcast, DIRECTV, or certain other cable, satellite or other providers to purchase a "Follow Your Team" option that will allow them to receive telecasts of their favorite out-of-market team's broadcaster without any blackouts—even when it is playing an in-market team, so long as the purchaser receives the in-market team's programming through his or her television service. This product will cost no more than $10 more than a standard MLB.TV package, which will raise the overall price of the MLB.TV package to $119.99 for a full season in 2016 for consumers selecting this enhancement. • In-Market Streaming: MLB will seek to reach agreements with Comcast, Root Sports, and Fox regional sports networks to offer live in-market streaming of their telecasts. If in-market streaming is not available for all of the teams whose games are broadcast by those networks by 2017, MLB will be prohibited from increasing prices for any of the above MLB.TV products through 2020. • Unserved Fans: MLB will offer live streaming of any in-market team's telecasts produced by Comcast, Root Sports, or Fox regional sports networks to any customer who is unable to obtain multi-channel video provider distributor service or virtual multi-channel video provider distributor service at his or her residence.
February 23, 201610 yr $85 is too high for a single team package. I have a promo code that allows me to have all of April for free. Usually in May I get another promo code that allows me to purchase the entire rest of the season for $50. That's for the entirely to the regular season and that's for the more expensive package. At this rate I'm better off doing that again.

March 18, 201610 yr Author Direct tv was trying to charge around 180 for the extra innings. I called and asked for the single team package but as I figured they said they didn't offer it. I told them to cancel extra innings since the had billed me for the first payment on a renewal. They ended up giving me the full package for 115.

March 19, 201610 yr Author Are we talking about your sexual preferences? That or he tried to negotiate the age of consent laws.
March 20, 201610 yr i've had the full MLB package for free every year. I simply renew my contract with DirecTV every two years and in the process of discussions I require that to be the main point is that I get that for free. They've yet to say no, although since they're now part of shitty AT&T that may change next time around. I will say this about the "negotiations" though. EVERY TIME...and I do mean EVERY time make 100% certain you copy down the precise date, time, and name of the person you spoke with who promised you that particular perk because every friggin' spring they charge me for the first month and I have to call in and point out they promised it was free, then they say they see no notes on my account and i have to point out the time i spoke with the rep who promised it. and then they're "ohhhhhh...now i see it!" so i'm guessing they have some really shitty software that doesn't let them easily read previous call notes since i mean the only times i really ever call in is to discuss renewal. I just had to go through the hoops again today actually and had one rep disconnect first. They also sound like they hire almost exclusively from some backwoods bayou based on the accents of the people I've interacted with each time.
March 20, 201610 yr I'll take the backwoods bayou before the 711 I worked in customer service taking calls from provider offices for years and I actually preferred speaking to the people from India over stateside based folks because the people in India weren't assholes when you talked to them. They took the information down that you provided them and moved on to the next person. I also got a kick out of the names they'd select for themselves for the day. I can't tell you how many "Peter Parker's" and "Tony Stark's" i'd talk to each week.
