but Stanton is NOT the best hitter.

The Stanton of the last two years is most definitely our best hitter.  Fact!  No one else in our lineup has done what he has done nor are they capable of doing what he has done.

the COL theory would suggest Stanton gets traded and hits 60 homers by july but point is I rather have him pouring it on for another team than me a liability for us.

It isn't really. Some of the guys hitting .300 are putting up empty batting averages & the team's best hitter has been garbage. If Stanton would snap out of it already, we would get more runs. We always score more runs when he's hot.

What is empty batting averages?  Never heard that term

Guys who raise their average by hitting lots of singles but don't really provide much in the on base or power department, which is a better correlation for runs scored.

Not that they're bad players, but Prado & Realmuto have empty batting averages.

More players with an OPS lower than Stanton:

Melky Cabrera

Chris Owings

Jacoby Elsbury

should have traded Stanton when we had the chance

Check out his last 5 weeks ops

dietrich looks like young moonlight graham.

this game....

yeah marlins totally got this still right?

He's clearly in an all-world slump. It's unequivocally painful to watch.

But it shows you just how good Stanton is that he can still have a .771 OPS with a below average BABIP even after 5 weeks of HELL PAIN.

Why do you troll your own team?

Great start to the inning. We gonna lose. I'd rather play the Cubs than play a bad team.
