June 22, 201610 yr That's not what your'e saying. That doesn't make sense. He needed to be himself day 1. He's not. Something isn't right because he's shown for years he can perform. So you as a fan can give up on him, but it would be unbelievable stupid for a team, organization, and business to. With his contract, all he has to do is be 2/3 of what he is to be worth it (until option). There is a better chance of that happening than trading for talent now and possibly in the future. When does the option kick in?
June 22, 201610 yr When does the option kick in? The "opt out" which is what I think he meant is after the 2020 season. So he can opt out and go elsewhere in 2021, or he stays for the duration. There is an "option" at the end of the contract for one more year, we'll see what happens.

June 22, 201610 yr Per Jon Morosi. Love what Pomeranz is doing right now although I don't know too much about advanced metrics to know if it is sustainable. Either guy would be a definite upgrade. Definitely would need to take on a bad contract in one of those deals in addition to getting either pitcher. I think getting a good RHP would be better. Pomeranz stuff is sustainable, he's a legitimately good pitcher.
