I like DD as much as the next guy but there's no where to put him when Dee is back & he should be an every day player so if we acquired odorozzi and made the post season this year you'd be good with starting Rojas every game ?

He had a down year last year but he pitched well in 13' and 14'. He isn't great but he is better than Nicolino, Clemens, etc. Plus, we wouldn't have to give up a ton to get him. He would be an upgrade over what we have. If your hoping for an ACE type of even a #2 or #3 type, you're going to be disappointed. Just looked up his contract on Cot's. $12.5 Mil this season and next. Also a vesting option for 18' if he reaches 110 starts between 14-17. I think he will fall just short. Plus we would only pay the pro rated portion of this season if we trade for him. I don't know if he's lost velocity or things like that. He's also started all of 5 games this year. By default Braxton Garrett is our best prospect. It's a big downhill slide from there. I'm really not sure what we have that the Rays would want. I guess pitching prospects but we have very little of that. Our farm is in the bottom three in the majors.

I'd have to imagine he's picked up some mph considering those gaudy k #s

The Marlins have engaged in preliminary talks about trading for a starting pitcher, contacting the Tampa Bay Rays regarding Jake Odorizzi and San Diego Padres on Drew Pomeranz, sources said. Per Jon Morosi. Love what Pomeranz is doing right now although I don't know too much about advanced metrics to know if it is sustainable. Either guy would be a definite upgrade. Definitely would need to take on a bad contract in one of those deals in addition to getting either pitcher. I think getting a good RHP would be better.
