Hammerhead
I find the most frustrating thing about Hechavarria was that he has back to back years where he showed real improvement and then went back to the old garbage this year. If you look at his BABIP numbers though it appears as though he was just fortunate. His BABIP in between 2014-2015 was .325 and he hit in the .270-.280 range those years. That's why. This year, it's far more neutral at .270 and he is his usual garbage. So what I'm saying is he hit way over his head those last two years and at 27 this is the type of offensive hitter he really is. dim
Unfortunately, Jose is our only real chip. Need to move for 2 all-star quality prospects (SS & 3B - Prado is as good as gone) plus a number 3 and a random arm that could possibly turn into a DTrain. Face it - Jose/Boras is as good as gone, and his value could not be any higher than this offseason. Jose is for a 2017 offseason discussion not 2016. The team should give 2017 one more chance with the current cast of players. Jose isn't a free agent until after 2018, and his value in a trade for a full season of Jose before an extension would be the same as after 2017 barring injury. All the pieces are in place for the team to stay the same in 2017 and unload Stanton/Fernandez in the 2017 offseason (Stanton's contract becomes $25 million a year then). The trade chips for this offseason are Dietrich, Ozuna, Telis, Bour, and possibly Rodney.

Michael
Stanton has a no trade clause, which I know he can waive, but it's doubtful he does. Sent from my SM-N920T using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app
pollythewog
im with you @dim but no one is trade for rodney except for mike hill
dim
Replace Rodney with Koehler then.
Admin
Bour also has limited trade value. No reason to trade him. Dietrich won't net much, either.
dim
I'm not arguing that. But that's the list of players the Marlins 1. Are open to trading and 2. Another team would trade somebody for

dim
I'm just simply listing the teams tradable assets. I wasn't ranking them but yes ozuna and Ramos are going to net the most by far.
Admin
I mean, if you want to put it that way, almost everyone on the roster is a tradable asset to a degree. Outside of maybe Stanton.
dim
Well the team isn't going to trade Realmuto. Or Gordon. Or Yelich. And not Stanton or Fernandez this season. Everybody else I haven't mentioned yet previously wouldn't net us anything in a trade. we're arguing terminology here. It's reasonable trade targets the team can and should put out there this offseason.

Admin
For the record, Rojas is an Ass Clown. No, he's an infielder. Never heard of that profession, not there is anything wrong with it (I assume).

Hammerhead
You know, after delving further into this and after a lot of researching his stats, I'm going to backpedal a bit and change my position. Call me a flip flop but here is my new opinion.
