no one is going to give the marlins value for a bottom third SS unless there's another idiot GM like mike hill out there

Arizona on line 1.

would love a segura/adeiny swap. maybe marlins can sweeten the deal with Capps

I see what you did there.

oh man i wish so hard. what would dbacks do w/ segura tho

He's their 2B.

When Mike Hill went to General Manager school, he skipped class the day they covered Trade Negotiations.  I'm pretty sure he skipped How To Build Your Farm System Day too.

he ace how to sound like a dumbass class

-25 offensive war on year. Dead last in baseball. +11 DRS or not, that needs to drastically change r I'm gonna call for him to be DFA in early 2017.

I'll give him til June.

I am going to say what everyone is thinking...I want an upgrade at SS!

He had a very good year last year but when you look around the league SS-wise, how many SSs you can count that are far superior all around to Hech? Easily 10 maybe 12... and those that are better hitter or better defenders? maybe another 7 or 8.  The Marlins can't really trade him for much because  most teams actually have better SS, I guess they could some team  may have an injured SS but a lot of teams also have great SS prospect  that are blocked currently...We are pretty much stuck with the Guy we have now. A couple a years back I had the Trea Turner crush, more recently I had the Yoan Moncada obsession....The Marlins need to think in those terms  I am tired of the small potatoes like Justin Twine, JT Riddle and Justin Bohn (they all seem like the same player to me).It could just be that local kids, Mark Vientos or Freddie Zamora,  may  be what the Marlins need for their future

Watch the marlins try and extend him again

Doubt it. Even if they say they still like him, the team needs some reshuffling and he's the most obvious one to be replaced.
One of the better and most consistent defensive shortstops in the NL (not erratic like Rojas). Wins games with defense, The offense is just extra, if it happens. Marlins have to focus on pitching.  SS is not a major problem.

Lol

I find the most frustrating thing about Hechavarria was that he has back to back years where he showed real improvement and then went back to the old garbage this year.

His 2014 wasn't very good either but nothing like 2013 when he was literally the worst qualified player in milb.

He's a bottom dwelling as this year. Bottom 3 and if continues this into June should probably be dfad as my good pal mentioned yeste

Again I will state it. He's by far the worst offensive SS in baseball. And his defense has taken a dive of late. Even if he were the best defensive SS in ball, ts hard to say having a glaring hole in your lineup isn't a problem.

How many low scoring games were lost because the offense didn't happen?  Hech alone has killed too many rallies or big innings.  I would be fine with him if he had productive outs but he can't even do that.   The middle of the infield needs a major upgrade.  Hech and Dee (since his suspension) have been garbage at the plate and can easily be replaced on the field.  I'd even trade Ozuna and get a better FA OFer.  Pitching is a need but this team (except for Jose) usually has trouble obtaining quality arms

Unfortunately, Jose is our only real chip.

Need to move for 2 all-star quality prospects (SS & 3B - Prado is as good as gone)

plus a number 3

and a random arm that could possibly turn into a DTrain.

Face it - Jose/Boras is as good as gone, and his value could not be any higher than this offseason.

If you look at the SSs of this era... The field and no hit SS is disappearing! The Marlins have one of the few light hitting SS in the majors. The problem is that most other SS than can hit are just as good with the glove  and in fact more than just a few might even be better.  He gives very little power and has only 1  SB

For a better idea of what I am referring to, in the majors of all starting SS as a hitter  he is in a group of only

Jordy Mercer Pitt

Luis Sardinas SD

Jose Iglesias Det (he hit .300 last season)

Danny Espinosa is hitting  .216 but he has 21 HR

If you look at the Marlins lineup Hechavarria is the only hole

I want an upgrade at SS!
