The Marlins actually got footage of the moment Stanton announced to the team that he was returning this season.

PH only for now but he IS active for tonight

Alright. That's something.

It would be pretty epic is Stanton and Bour come back...tear it up....and take the team to the playoffs.

...now...how likely it is...well it wouldn't be epic if it were easy.

I'm pleasantly surprised. It's enough to make this fan watch the game(as long as I can take Preston).

Hopefully, in the off-season they'll trade him(Preston, not Stanton).

Mattingly says he was progressing quickly but told the team to hide it from the media so their wouldn't be high hopes and in case there was a setback. That could be BS stuff to please the media but found that interesting. It's not impossible

I believe him

I think it was obvious the coddling of players was getting put of hand. They knew these injuries were that serious. About damn time!

Now despite what Donnie said, I see it this way. Great news that G is back and able to swing but it also smells like front office desperation. This team is falling so fast they're willing to rush Stanton back because a limping Stanton is a better offensive threat once a game than basically everyone except Yelich Prado and Realmuto. It's like the team is saying "I'd rather have a one legged Stanton hit than a healthy Chris Johnson"...and in a way, they're right.

1. Hill tried to avoid his resignation, desperately.

2. Only for a newly broadcasting contract. Without him, a tv rating wouldn't increase, except Jose day.

Season is over and Stanton is Mr. Glass, so I'd prefer they sit him until 2017.

Such a Marlins thing to rush him back.

So he can get injured again? Fuck that. Rather him out there now to get his 2017 injury our of the way.

He was not limping. He was fine. The front office finally got the swift kick in the ass they needed

Fully resting him now will decrease the chances of something happening in the first half of 2017.

It will be dumb if Stanton misses the 2017 HR derby and ASG because the Marlins made a desperate attempt to win the WC.
