Current Marlins Hall of Famers

Featured Replies

With Pat Burrell, the greatest baseball player of all time, eligible for the Hall of Fame for the first time this year, it got me thinking...

If any Marlins' career ended now, would he make it to the Hall of Fame?

I don't think we will see a player going into the Hall of Fame wearing a Marlins hat for at least 20 or 30 years at the absolute minimum.

Sheffield?

If anyone gets in with a marlins hat anytime soon.... it's going to be Miguel Cabrera.

He became a great player here, won a World Series, batting titles and was a premier hitter.

I can see it being the same thing as Gary Carter and Andre Dawson- you were great elsewhere, but you made your name here.

Piazza seems to have been the one exception over the years , and I think that's because of his distaste for how he was treated and traded by the dodgers since 1998 and his love for NY- the 9/11 home run only sealed the deal, the story of that day can be told by looking at his plaque.

Outside of Cabs? Stanton and Yelich are the only two, and only if they rattle off a few quality healthy and good seasons. Something like the following average for 8 years.

Stanton- 35+HR/100+RBI/ .270+ BA

Yelich- 25hr/90RBI/.300 BA

I think Cabrera is now more of a Tiger than a Marlin even with the world series win here. 5 seasons here compared to 10 over there and he hasn't sucked over there either so yeah.

He'd have to get to 6,000 hits in Miami to go in as a Marlin. Getting to 3,000 isn't his only career accomplishment. He has plenty of others and they all came in Seattle.

It is all a moot point anyway because he isn't going to play in Miami until he's 50 I'm pretty sure

Will it make your day if I admit defeat? Geez man I said "maybe" originally and then said "99.9%" chance he'll go in as a Mariner.  Not like I said he'll for sure go in as a Marlin. I stand by 99.9 percent because that isn't a guarantee, just a very likely scenario.

Nah it won't make my day because I was just messing with you. I don't need to beat you. I may have misinterpreted what the 99.9% number meant though.
