Barraclough

Featured Replies

One of the guys the Rays got for Andriese is currently their starting catcher. And Barraclough is better than Andriese.

Would he be a starting catcher on most teams today? Obviously not in Miami so there wasn't a match possibly with this team. It is why it is all speculative from you, me and the writers. We don't know what the Marlins asked for from teams and we don't know what they were offered. If the Marlins acquired him, wouldn't most then call him a boring and terrible return for Barraclough? You wouldn't because you'd deal a reliever for anything but most people here I mean.

On this team, no. On most teams, probably yeah. Acquiring a decent catcher prospect like Perez would make it easier to deal Realmuto in the offseason, which is a possibility regardless. Seems like they'll trade JT too if he doesn't sign an extension. Right now, there's no catching depth in the system.

Basically, even if we assume Barraclough's trade value = Andriese (which I don't see why it wouldn't have been better), I would've been fine making the same exact deal with the DBacks. Along with Perez who is already starting in the big leagues, they got a decent pitching prospect who has put up pretty good #'s in A ball at age 21. Pretty good deal for a reliever who's far less proven than Barraclough.

  • 2 weeks later...

StinkingRider comes in and gives up a SLAM with 2 strikes and 2 outs after walking in a run... another piece of shit... he was bad enough but BearClaw set up this potential loss with his bullshit

Conley, Rider and Bearclaw's era hit below 4.

Officially our bullpen was collapsed. Cannot hold up the lead.

Thank you Bearshit and StinkRider... and why the fuck are we even giving Sierra ABs???.... when he hits for power it's a shallow fly ball

Maybe they're just worn out,I would just give them another "rebuilding season".

For what? So Jeter can fail to sell high again?

Sierra is Jeter’s guy.

I'm sad and angry when Stecken gives that GS,but in the next second I think it's a rebuilding season and it's really good to learn something from the failures in a season like this.

"At the end of the day, those guys are very good back-end relievers." -- Straily, praising Barraclough and Steckenrider

How a good guy Dan was !!!

Doesn't help that Mattingly is the stupidest fucking manager on the planet for bringing him in.  Where do I start with Dumb Donald tonight... Alcantara plunks Alfaro in the 7th.  Alcantara is hitting 2nd in the bottom of the 7th.  So leave him in with a furious ALfaro behind the plate (although i doubt they would retaliate but still...) and then he faces 1 hitter in the 8th and you pull him for the tagteam of Conley and Bearshit = Phillies score a run...I would have PH for him in the 7th and tried to extend the lead (because you know Alcantara is at the end of the night and the shit pen is gonna fuck up a 2 run lead!)

I would seriously tell every reliever on this team that NO job is a lock next season... major overhaul is welcome

That goes without saying.
