Will we avoid 100 losses?

Featured Replies

This bullpen will guarantee 100+ losses... I really hope we blow the pen up  for next season, because most of these guys fucking suck

I believe our lineup or rotation would guarantee 100+ losses, too…maybe blow the lineup and rotation for the next season, too.

Yep. There isn’t a single one with an ERA less than 4.  Easily the worst bullpen in baseball.  Such a disgrace

We didn't have any hitter with batting average over .300 and didn't have any SP with ERA less than 4.

If they lose, 98, 100 or 102 how does it matter? The total losses is meaningless because no matter what its a lot of losses.

It matters to the person who created this thread. Otherwise he would have not created the thread. And I agree with him.

The Front Office does not want to reach 100 losses.

Actually, I'm the person who created the thread and it doesn't matter to me if they lose 98 or 99 or 100 or 101 at this point because it will be inconsequential no matter what.

I created the thread because, when I created it, there was still a fair chance they don't get to 100 losses with a couple of lucky wins here and there and so I thought it was a fair topic to create conversation because it was almost a yes or no situation at the time so it was merely asking for a prediction.

With that said, I would prefer they not get to 100 losses but I also wouldn't lose a minute of sleep if they did.

Yep. This is 100% what I thought you meant and what I also meant.

Bottom line, as a fan yes it's always nice to say your team won a few more games but once the season is this far down the tubes there's not one difference in losing 99 games or losing 100.

With that said I never said my prediction and yes I do think they can just barely avoid 100 losses.

If nothing matters then nobody is at fault and there is nothing to criticize.  Just move along and don’t ask questions.  I seem to remember that some of you guys were bragging early in the year that the team was on the same win/loss pace as last year so wins/losses mattered at some point.

I was the one who brought up the win loss pace being the same as last year and it was just a comparison at the time. At the moment it was literally a matter of fact. I never claimed it meant we were gonna be a playoff team and I surely don't think it was bragging. I was pointing something out. It's like talking to someone at work and saying "man the weather has been so hot lately"... if someone does that to you do you say "so? Does it matter if it's hot today?"

You do if you're just trying to instigate things like certain people who shall remain nameless.

I can’t tell if this is a serious post or not.

You created a thread that asks the question: Will we avoid 100 losses?

But you don’t care one way or another if the Marlins lose 100 games.

Then why make the thread in the first place?

OF COURSE YOU CARE

Jesus man you're a serious instigator...

It's a message board about the Marlins and, as a long time member as well a member of the staff, I aim to create and promote as much activity and interaction as I can on here. So I created this thread SO THAT PEOPLE HAD SOMETHING TO DISCUSS.

Whether or not I personally care about the topic is irrelevant. I'm sure most people do create topics about things they care about but I myself often create topics only for the sake of creating conversation. I even said it in the post you quoted that confused you so much. It's the part where I wrote "I thought it was a fair topic to create conversation."

Don't understand why you enjoy prodding people on here.

The 100 losses will likely come down to the decision to play the 162nd game vs PIT or not.

Could be.  I assume that most on here will say that they don't care if the Marlins play that game or not.

I was totally prepared for a 100 loss or more team before the season. That said, I haven't been following closely enough to predict whether they will lose a 100 games or not, with the amount of games left.
