May 24, 20197 yr Oh, I never posted this idea. It's Brilliant!!!! If the team did this I would be happy. They won't but IF they did! So, here is the idea. Marlins get Kevin Cron and Domingo Leyba Daimondbacks get Jose Urena Diamondbacks immediately get better, Marlins get new bats. We missed our chance. walker is slumping (though not that bad of a slump) and Cron is at 21 Home Runs. So they might not go for this trade. It was brilliant when i proposed it.

He's actually hitting the ball harder this year than the last four years. Just hitting the ball in the wrong spots, for the most part. His average launch angle is a little down compared to his career average, could be all it is. Just some numbers to throw out: - 40.2% hard hit [highest by far since 2015] - 12.5 K% [top 7% in the league] - his xwOBA - wOBA is .059 which indicates a decent amount of bad luck here If he can just get half a hair under the ball more for a good six week stretch with the same approach, we're talking about a good trade candidate for sure.

May 30, 20197 yr It helped also not having to play grandy everyday now that ramirez and coop are available, and you can occasionally put dean out there. For as bad as brinson was, grandy isn't significantly better.

I mentioned before that they need to dfa Granderson so he can go sign elsewhere if someone else would still pick him up. He's not adding anything to that lineup and is only taking away opportunities from someone else.
May 30, 20197 yr Imagine what a difference if we get an improved Brinson in there. Not kidding. I just don't see him improving to the point he even reaches Maybin-level production. He's not exactly a young prospect and it's not like he came over from some international league and needs time to adjust to the culture in general- I just don't see him ever contributing anything to this club. Hell, even his defense was awful this year - dude took some atrocious routes to balls in play. I would love for him to turn it around somehow but I just don't see it. But yes, it would be nice if he somehow figured it all out.
May 31, 20197 yr Hell, even his defense was awful this year I agree he took some batshit crazy routes but he was graded positively on defense. Pretty much where any and all of his value came from.
