August 6, 20197 yr Just read an article on fangraphs that states that rapid farm system risers don't seem to have the sort of success that you would hope for 3 years down the road. According to the article, teams that rapidly improve the farm see an average of 80.6 wins the next 3 years as opposed to the slow risers 88.0 wins per year. I don't know how trading for those prospects like the marlins did ends up factoring into the equation: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/farm-systems-are-cyclical/ I honestly think that a big reason for the rapid rise is due to the analysts under-evaluating the Marlins prospects due to the fact that they opted to pick up a lot of high ceiling guys coming off down years. Either the low rank before was an overreaction to the bad years they had before or the higher rank now is an overreaction to the current good seasons they are putting up. In the end I hope the Marlins development team develops a knack for helping guys reach their potential ceilings so that we can be on the upper end of the statistic of how teams do based on a rapidly rising farm system.

While it would be nice to be ranked first in minor league systems, it isn’t a goal. Being top 5 is good enough. I would like to see some progress at the big league level in 2020 personally. Not a contender but also not a 100 loss team.

You should know I'm just mean the opposite, I never want this team to loss any game for the draft picks even in the process of rebuilding…the Astros, loss over one hundred times in three straight years from 2011 to 2013, I just have no idea how their fans to endure all of that.
