For those of you over on the (L)east coast anything crazy going on with your gas stations thanks to the pipeline stoppage?  Seen some pretty crazy videos and pictures but none from Florida yet - mostly GA and up.

i rarely leave my house and my wife and I both work-at-home and have done so for years so I go through a tank of gas maybe once every 6 weeks on average.  Sure beats the days when we still worked in the office and had to fill up every 4 days. 

I try not to hoard but i'll admit i did go attempt to buy some chlorine stuff for our hot tub yesterday as we're down to about 1/3 left in our current bucket but it was literally $100 for a tiny pail that previously cost around $20.  Insane.  I guess i'll roll the dice and hope it goes down a bit or that we can find it in stock at a later date when we're almost entirely out. 

 

Prices have been shooting up.  Stations I just drove by a bit ago were full, but no lines wrapping anywhere, just all pumps being used.

 

The media sure is good at getting people scared.

Enjoying (not really though) the pictures I'm seeing if batshit crazy people filling up those cheap plastic totes from Walmart with gas. I wish people recorded them attempting to pick up the tote once full since they will break with like two sweaters in them normally.

Pipeline was restored apparently. 

yeah.  Florida wasn't even impacted by it but i had some family and friends post pics from in and around the Tampa area with lines going bonkers and idiots filling up any container they had regardless if it's safe or not.  I dunno if ya'll saw it but the US Consumer Product Safety Commission literally had to tweet to remind people not to just grab some plastic bags and fill 'em up with gas. 

 

just insane.  gotta wonder if people were always this insane or if the internet has only allowed them to coordinate with each other

I saw a quote from I think George Carlin recently - something along the lines of "think of how dumb the average person is.......then think about how there are 50% more people that are even dumber."

I saw a video of someone putting gas in like target bags and then loading them into her trunk. At least she double bagged it, but what is wrong with people?

The videos of people filling up Styrofoam containers with gas is also quite hilarious.  

Too bad Darwin couldnt take these people out BEFORE they reproduce with more idiots like themselves.
