Gotta love the fact that the two sides met for all of 7 minutes this afternoon, as if that's going to help them reach a deal (in general, it's obvious it won't get done before the current one expires this evening).

I"ve changed by stance significantly after listening to things and reading things today.

 

This is going to last until at least February. I'm not convinced its going to take away regular season games yet, but a chunk of spring training is probably in jeopardy, so dont make plans for spring training at least not the first half.

Players are adament on two main points:

 

1. Free agent/arbitration manipulation

2. Teams tanking

 

I'm not sure which is the easier one to solve, as teams have zero interest historically in forcing teams to actually you know try to win. 

There is ZERO excuse for any franchise in 2022 to not spend 100 million on payroll at least once in a 3 year period.  And to have an average 3 year payroll of 90 million at least.  

They get so much fucking money from national tv deals before selling one fucking ticket.

I feel Item 2 will go a long way toward solving Item 1 so Item 2 is probably the more difficult hurdle to get past.

It’s so weird going into the MLB app today. All the highlight videos at the top are from historic moments such as the 1997 walkoff. No news on current players, no pics on the roster pages.  

They just had that switch ready to go, huh?

And also on the website. If you go to the Marlins official site, the top news stories besides CBA stuff are Frisaro pieces like best trades, all time best players, etc. Interestingly, they are dated December 1, 2021. So are these old stories recycled or did Frisaro write new stuff for them?
