November 24, 20214 yr Sounds like he wanted to go to STL, and used the Mets to get a better deal lol.
November 25, 20214 yr I just saw the Steven Cohen's reaction via mlbtraderumors.com. I think Players don't want to sign with Mets, lol.
November 26, 20214 yr Yea don't a bunch of free agents play that leverage game and ultimately piss off the teams they decline? Cohen is making it sound like something more despicable than the usual. Is it really that bad or is Cohen being a little bitch?

The dispute seems to lie in that Matz' camp apparently told Cohen that they'd give the Mets a "last chance" to match other offers, but then apparently didn't do that. It could just be that STL gave the 4/44 offer and Matz though "hey, even if the Mets match it, I'd rather play in STL, and would've been a moot point anyway (thus why Matz' camp didn't reach back out). I agree that I'm sure this type of thing happens often, so he's probably just complaining to make the fanbase think "we're trying to sign these players but they're playing 'dirty'".
November 27, 20214 yr Why the Marlins not sign him, he needed to make good team Marlins do nothinggggggggggg
