May 15, 20224 yr Max last pitched on 5/12. They need a starter for 5/17. Would be normal rest for him. Makes too much sense. If they still pass him for Castano, then they’re just not even trying

May 16, 20224 yr People wanting Max up and a CF and a closer etc with the hope that it saves the season but keep going at a 3-11 pace and they'll be in such a hole that nobody can save the season. This is why the lack of urgency kills me. For a team that's meant to contender why are they waiting on these moves? Yes I know the answer but just saying, I hate that they still manage the roster like a tanking team where daily wins don't really matter.

That lies solely on the GM. Even more so then any FA/offseason acquisitions

Sherman seems like a very hands off kinda owner unlike Loria was and leaves it all up to the GM for the most part. Kim seems like someone who literally can't make decisions without pondering it for ages. I don't know if it's she second guesses herself or if she just "feels" like the team should be doing better so she's stubborn AF or what but this shit (and not making proper moves last season) is 90% on her as that's a pretty basic function as a GM. She has literally left this team to flounder for crazy long stretches for no reason. I honestly think she's in over her head as a GM and it really shows.

You need an owner how to tell you how to run a baseball team? If you need an owner to tell you to call Max up, youre not a championship caliber GM. That’s what we’re evaluating here. Is Kim Ng good enough to bring a WS to Miami. If the answer is no, every day she’s employed is a wasted day

I’ve been saying for a bit now that it’s just like last year where the team is floundering and we just get crickets from Ng/the FO until it’s beyond too late and then they MIGHT call someone up, by which point as you said the team is so far out of it that it doesn’t matter. It’s absolutely ridiculous. They say they want to win, but actions/inactions speak louder than words. I get not knee jerk reacting to a single game, but there is a very clear pattern already, yet nothing?? In 2020, Hill was pulling levers left and right to get us a decent squad as guys would go out with covid. Now we have the polar opposite….get it in gear Ng, or just resign. I sometimes wish I could just not care, it’d make things easier to not waste time on following this team. Edited May 16, 20224 yr by rmc523

Yea Kim is the one who is in charge of building the team but she has a boss, Bruce Sherman, who can direct her towards specific moves. If Sherman was more invested in winning NOW then I don't see why he wouldn't be forcing her to make these obvious moves that she's missing. We've heard a bunch of times about Loria forcing Hill/Beinfest towards specific moves. So the lack of a good team right now is on Kim but it's also a reflection of Sherman's attitude as well. Kim sucks but Sherman is ok with it, he needs to demand better.

I know that they haven’t called Max Meyer up yet and have rolled with mediocrity. I know this organization has flaws, and even with those flaws, the big league product hasn’t been maximized due to asset allocation. Could there be an outside factor? Absolutely. But we don’t know for sure. What we do know is that our GM isn’t doing a great job at her sole responsibilities. Anything outside of that is shaky at best to evaluate on. This isn’t just a Max Meyer situation either. I don’t think Sherman advocated for 40% of our games to be bullpen starts for a large stretch of last year Edited May 16, 20224 yr by marlins_09
