Netflix usually doesn't have much in movies for me.  Any titles I am interested in I already have.  My own library is pretty extensive and could probably have put Blockbuster to shame years ago.  The only genre I lack in is horror, just not a fan of them.  If i want to watch disturbing images, I'll put on a Marlins game...

we tried watching quite a few shows and there was just something...missing...in them. Neither of us could really place what it was though just none of the programming seemed to have much depth to the story, characters, etc.  it was like being excited to sit down to a good meal and then the meal is horrifically underseasoned.

I know it is overhyped by many but I did enjoy most of Ted Lasso. It isn't as good as people act like it is, but it was entertaining for the most part.

Mythic Quest is a good show.

Other than that, you're right. I tried almost everything there and it was disappointing.

I have a massive Plex library of movies on my home NAS, which, is actually named Blockbuster.  I invested in some special equipment that also allows me to rip my 4k discs with Dolby Vision and Atmos intact in full uncompressed format so it's none of the streaming compressed stuff that you get elsewhere.  the files it generates are massive (usually around 75gb for each) but man it's nice just being able to use my remote and have all my stuff at my fingertips.

ahh yeah, we did like the first season of Ted Lasso but we felt it really fell off a cliff in season 2.  I had another friend that tried to get me into Mythic Quest and I want to say I made it through about 8 episodes and quit on it ha.

P.S.  It wasn't that Mythic Quest was bad either..it was just...ho-hum I guess.  I ended up finding something else while I was watching it and just never went back.  Compelling TV makes you want to finish the series before watching anything else.  The only things on there that struck me that way were the first Ted Lasso season and also Severance (but that one took me about half the season before I got there...my wife actually didn't care for it at all).

Since I used to do a lot of DJing pre-pandemic, my other DJ pals and I ripped all our libraries into one super mega-library.  We then made saved playlists to  play whole albums (like Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" or Led Zep "Houses Of The Holy") or do any Weekly Top 40 from 1955 (when Billboard started) up to today.  If I wanna hear the Top 40 from today's date in 1995, I just go in the library folder, go to 1995 folder, click on the appropriate list and it plays from #40 to #1 in order...

Here is the Top 40 on today's date in 1997 when the Fish were going after WS #1... Unfortunately, I can't change the numbering feature, so it is #'ed in reverse.  Track #1 is #40, #2 is #39, etc and track #40 at th bottom is the #1 song
