and yet, almost every day, some clown on The Bird Site tries to tell me that this team would be just as good with Mattingly in charge.

Was Mish the one who recently said it? Could've sworn he was defending Don big time recently.

That's a laughable thought.  He was checked out, and the team won't respond to that.

wasn't Mish, but yeah he's also been super annoying about coddling Don Mattingly. I get that all of these guys respect the hell out of him as a man, and that's fine. Three things can be true, Don can be an excellent person and an excellent baseball player and an atrocious manager.

I feel like he also had the same issues in LA, but he had a better roster, so his flaws were more hidden there, and more exposed here with a lesser roster.

Eeeexactly. Look how much better they did once Roberts came in.

for sure, this current roster would be better than last year's even with Mattingly, but we'd be hovering around .500 with a MUCH different record in one-run games.

Matt Barnes would be the closer. Floro next in line. Scott sometimes. Jazz would be benched vs half the league.

Mattingly’s lineup in 2023 would be as follows:

1. Jon Berti - CF

2 . Garrett Cooper - 1B

3. Jorge Soler - LF

4.  Yuli Gurriel - DH

5 - Avi Garcia - RF

6 - Luis Arraez - 2B

7. Jacob Stallings - C

8. Jazz Chisholm - SS

9. Jean Segura - 3B

Its almost like Mish has been going out of his way to defend that clown manager recently.

Not really sure why tbh.

Don’t forget benching Arraez for having too many 5-5 games
