I get you want to give him some confidence by not pulling him immediately after a single baserunner, but he clearly hasn't had it.  You're leaving him and the team out to dry at that point.

After the walk to Miggy he should have been pulled

Getting Heath Bell flashbacks

At least Skip took him out of the closer's role. For now ...

I mean, the rest of the bullpen kinda sucks too.

I'm at the game. I'm not sure if it was obvious on TV but the boos that rained down on Puk as he gave up the 2 runs were beautiful. The sarcastic cheering when he got pulled was even sweeter.

He looked at the crowd while walking off and may have muttered something, couldn't tell

Yeah, well fuck him too

Tired of this team swinging at anything just because it's "close" before having two strikes.

It's like people playing a video game, "oh it's a strike I HAVE TO SWING" - no you don't! If you don't think you can hit that pitch well, HOLD. You got another strike or two to work with!

Garrett Hampson gets a leadoff single and just stays at 1B.

This is a Skip thing, for whatever reason. Doesn't seem to like to steal bases.

ok, but I'd rather take a chance with one of them vs. the guy that very clearly doesn't have it after loading the bases.

It's just one game, but Avi has looked very good

I believe in Avi

He has - going opposite field a lot. I like that. Seemed before like he was very pull-heavy.

I laughed at Paul's comments earlier that we'd need Avi's best 2 months in his Marlins career, as if that was a high bar to cross lol

Hopefully Kim doesn't look at this game and think "oh we scored 7 runs, we don't need anymore bats, awesome!"

Avi has had a couple pretty good seasons so getting the best three months of his career RIGHT NOW would actually go a long way.

Paul specifically said "in a Marlins uniform" though.

Agreed though, I'd happily have him do well.
