December 4, 20232 yr Someone pull up the image of him smoking a heater outside Marlins Park in full Team USA uniform. One of my favorite stories was sometime between May 16 and May 18, 1998- Leyland went on an absolute tirade against the entire 1998 Marlins Team. Ripped them to shreds, called em shit, told em they should all be in the minors. Then turns to Mike Piazza calmly, and says "But not you Mike, we'll get you outta here soon enough". And MAN did he love to shit on Greg Zaun.
December 4, 20232 yr I've always found it amusing how nobody, not even the Rockies themselves, ever mention that Leyland managed them for a season. What a disaster that was.

He quit two jobs in a row since he resigned from the Marlins after the 1998 season too. I can't fault him for it though. He signed a 5-year deal and then had the team dismantled.
