January 11, 20242 yr Why do we still call it "new" England? The place is pretty old by now, could be just regular England at this point.

I also don't like.follow football at all, so take my thoughts above/below with a grain of salt..... But, maybe! Quite a few teams got rid of their coaches too, so there are options for him if he does want to.....but 26 wins shy realistically means probably 3-5 years depending on success of the potential team he goes to. How old is he now? Edited January 11, 20242 yr by rmc523

How old is he now? He is 72 I believe and there is interest in him apparently.

Depends if he wants to continue - he'll have options if he does. I'd imagine this was a mutual "this isn't working anymore" scenario where the team wants to bring in a new voice for the long term, and he probably doesn't want to continue coaching through a "rebuild"/would rather coach for a competitive team.

He's incredibly overrated. Someone will still take him though. I wouldn't want him running my team though, that's for sure. He's a great Defensive mind but that's about where it stops. I just marvel that Saban and Bill leave at the same time. Now Saban can go coach the pats and bill can coach the tide! begin the conspiracy theories now! (no, not being serious) I think Dabo will take the Tide opening. Some idiot GM will bring in Belichick.

Yup, some team will look at overall success and give him an offer.

Pete Carroll stepped down the same day as well. He's staying with Seattle in an advisory role, however. Likely the idiot GM ends up being in Carolina. lol. That place is a mess right now.
