2021 and 2022 Cal Quantrill was actually pretty good. Given that he pitched in Colorado, he actually wasn't that bad last year (1.5 WAR).

First start a bit rocky then he settled down then it imploded.

We probably won't ever see peak Cal Quantrill but half of that would be good enough.

BTW, 3 shutouts in the openers yesterday for the minor league affiliates.

Quantrill needs to just take a mulligan for his last start. It really wasn't that bad. Just ran out of gas in the 5th and ran into a hitter that was on the verge of a mad hot streak.

They are trying to ambush Quantrill. Will either be good or bad. Hard contact so far so leaning towards bad.

A lot of hard hit balls so far.

Definitely an uneasy first for Cal but we will take no runs after a leadoff double. Every contact was hit hard though.

Liam Hicks double was the 2nd weakest hit ball hit in play in the game so far.

Acording to Savant, that double by Hicks would be a homer in every other park...

Hicks has a great eye at the plate. For a guy who hasn't been above AA ball and a rule 5 pick, he's looked useful so far.
