Gore (2.45 ERA)

Quantrill (6.00 ERA) 3.92 xFIP*

Marlins +115

Interesting factoid: the Marlins are 16th in MLB in ERA and Batting Average

Gore can get wild so hopefully they approach him with patience today. If Gore is in though could see double digit ks.

Fish 15th in sb this year. They really need be more aggressive should be a strength

I can’t believe they’re not starting mervis

Apparently Wagaman and Bride have been getting a bit unlucky on the season based on expected stats. Bride's xSLG is still really shitty, but Wagaman's is not too bad. Still I am not sure about the predictive ability of x stats. I seem to remember that Brinson always had a big discrepency and that obviously didn't signal that he was gonna turn it around.

Lmao at bridge discrepancy but .231 slg still bottom of barrel

Quantril got really lucky there.

Nice DP by Rob Brantley

Gore really benefited with the shadows on Opening Day to dominate the Phillies. Shadows look to be a factor early today as well.

We can all only hope our Sundays turn out the same

They aren't hitting the ball that hard right now, just hitting itn the perfect spots. Quantrill isn't helping his case by throwing balls though.

Quantril is going to get destroyed. Even the outs are hit hard.

Why the hell do we go with the infield in in DP spots?

Why the fuck is the infield in when you have a double play possibility. This coach is an idiot.

Their only balls hit over 90 mph were outs, so only their outs are really getting hit hard.

Middle infield in in DP spots. Giving up outs with bunts for guys who are not hitting the ball at all. Bringing in relievers in spots that don't favor them. This coaching staff is either really terrible, or really good (at intentionally losing)...

They better not send Griffin down when Sanchez comes back.

In now 16 at bats vs a lefty, Bride has 1 single and 5 strikeouts. In his only at bat vs a lefty, Mervis hit a home run.

Yeah, it's really infuriating.

DPs are saving Quantrils ass right now.

Coming into the year, Bride had never done well vs lefties. Mervis had done better vs lefties in the minors than he did vs righties. It is not even based in real numbers it's just the "dur lefties are not good vs lefty pitchers" approach....

Meanwhile our lefty bats continue to have the best numbers vs lefty pitchers in all of MLB.
