January 20, 200422 yr Welcome to the new host. You should notice an increase and speed and a decrease in errors/downtime now. The site will be "marlinbaseball.com" again in URL's within 72 hours. If you find any errors, let me know here.
January 20, 200422 yr the only difference i've noticed is the pages per thread are now separated in to like 15 instead of 25 this is new right?
January 20, 200422 yr All of our old settings stay true if we changed them on the old server correct?
January 26, 200422 yr This site has more down time since it was moved to the new host. Anybody else notice it too!
January 26, 200422 yr Author Are you serious? I haven't experienced 1 second of downtime since the move.
January 26, 200422 yr Are you serious? I haven't experienced 1 second of downtime since the move. Just before I posted, there was down time where I could not access the site. Seems to be every other day or so.
January 26, 200422 yr usually when i post i get a message saying the server can't be found. after 2 or 3 tries it finds the server and posts.
January 26, 200422 yr Author Ok, now I need to work on figuring out the exact cause then. Ravenlord: Thank you for the specific error message. What errors do the others recieve? This has to be a DNS issue, so it's fixable.
January 26, 200422 yr On my computer there have been times where i could not access this site at all maybe once every two days for about 5-15 minutes. It comes up with that message that says that the server can't be reached or something I don't know and then it says you can push refresh or somethin. You know it has the big list made by microsoft or something. I don't know what that is called-not a computer whiz.
January 26, 200422 yr Author I know what you are talking about so it's ok. Thank you. This will help me address whatever the issue is. This is not uncommon when switching hosts. Things take a bit to return 100% and settings need to be tweaked and such.
January 26, 200422 yr The site was down over on my end yesterday for a second or two. I got one of those DNS messages.
January 26, 200422 yr Author Good good, seems like everyone is having the same issue. I'll have this ironed out soon hopefully. DNS issues are the common problem on the switchovers, some of them update VERY slowllllly. Apparently what I am connected to is completely switched over which explains my lack of problems.
January 26, 200422 yr Yea, the only time I had a problem with the new host was yesterday and that was for a few seconds.
January 26, 200422 yr I only had problems during the switch over. I had to temporarily bookmark the page (had a different address) until the switchover was complete. After that, the temp was no longer working, so Iwent back to the original without any problems.
January 26, 200422 yr Author I would get the "This Page cannot be Displayed" message. Different effect, Same cause.
January 26, 200422 yr i haven't noticed any downtime, some slight delays though. slower than normal maybe.
January 26, 200422 yr fix it Admin. maybe it wasnt just this stupid laptop when i told you about it going down the other day.... then again i couldnt access any webpages so who knows.... damnit...thats cause this laptop hates me. but i hate it too...so its all cool.
