February 20, 200422 yr 1. As much as I hate to say it the Cubs have the top rotation in baseball even without Maddux. 2. Boston 3. Oakland 4. Florida- young pitchers but will develop into good pitchers 5. Houston or NYY
February 20, 200422 yr As much as i hate 2 say it, probably the Cubs, A's, Marlins, Astros, Red Sox But after AJ is back the Marlins will be at #1
February 20, 200422 yr Author Peter Gammons said if AJ Burnett comes back strong. Marlins rotation could be as good as everyones.
February 20, 200422 yr Author I think the Astros rotation is wildly overrated. I think so too. Pettittes ERA was over 4 and he won 21 games. He'll find out real soon that he won't win 21 games without that great yankee offense with a ERA over 4.
February 20, 200422 yr I think the Astros rotation is wildly overrated. It cant be "wildly overrated" I mean, come on they had roy oswalt who has filthy stuff. plus throw in pettite and clemens. their number 4 starter is wade miller who is probably among the best #4 starters out there. so they are atleast in the top 5 rotations
February 20, 200422 yr 1. cubs (wood, prior, maddux, best rotation) 2. astros (pettite, rocket, oswalt, best overall staff in baseball) 3. boston (pedro, lowe, schilling) 4. oakland (zito, mulder, hudson) 5. marlins (ajb, josh, train) the cubs have the best starting 5 and the astros have the best staff as a whole (starting 5 and bullpen)
February 20, 200422 yr its pretty funny. Wood/Prior combined age is 49 and Clemens is 42 yea but, u cant say either will do what clemens has done. maybe some day you can but not right now. and clemens has accomplished alot scince he was in the "twilight" of his career
February 20, 200422 yr The Marlins in my opinion should have best staff considering AJ come back strong.A guy not many people mention is Carl Pavano and how he became a better pitcher through out playoffs(He was dominant down the stretch).I think he will be pleasent surprise this year. Beckett AJ Penny Pavano Dtrain I would take Marlins staff over any staff including Cubs.Sorry Cubs fan but Maddux is not same pitcher but he is solid.
February 20, 200422 yr Author no i wasn't saying anything about them being as good as clemens. i was just saying there combind age is almost the same as clemens
February 20, 200422 yr 1. cubs 2. red sox 3. yanks 4. a's 5. astros 6. marlins - josh will be a pimp and i'm hopin he'll be healthy all season. - d-train should be good, too. - pavs will continue being an average pitcher helped by PPS. - i've got hopes for penny, but he'll probably also be average. - AJ won't be so hot since the rehab year coming back from TJS is always rough. - i dunno much about oliver, but i'm assuming he won't impress as #5.
February 20, 200422 yr A's go 5 deep Zito, Hudson, Mulder, Redman, Harden Cubs are amazing and have depth ready in the high minors Yankees have some amazing "talent" it just has to make it through the season Marlins could be #1 if AJ can be at 80% of what he was before he got hurt Astros have the big 4 but i expect Hernandez to make a nice comeback
February 20, 200422 yr Who has the most talent, or who will put up the best stats? Talent: 1. Red Sox 2. Marlins 3. Cubs 4. Yankees 5. A's Stats: 1. Cubs 2. Yankees 3. Red Sox 4. A's 5. Marlins
February 20, 200422 yr Talent: 1. Red Sox 2. Marlins 3. Cubs what? how are the Cubs and Marlins below the Sawks on this one?
February 20, 200422 yr :notworthy The proof of Value is in the doing and the doing under pressure. Marlins have proven that the staff they have can do it, the others have to catch us if you can.

February 20, 200422 yr :notworthy The proof of Value is in the doing and the doing under pressure. Marlins have proven that the staff they have can do it, the others have to catch us if you can. :thumbup Exactly Talent does not always equal to success (and that is in everything in life), one must be able to capitalize on opportunities. And the MArlin's staff has been able to do that :notworthy btw, In Jack we Trust
February 20, 200422 yr 1. Oakland. An ace quality three in their best years. Add in a nice vet like Redman and a sprinkling of excellent prospects and it's looking nice. 2-4. Cubs, Marlins, Yankees. Toss up. Kerry Wood won't be listed as one of the greats until he stops walking people. Maddux has lost some, and Zambrano is a mental case. Our Marlins have the talent and have shown flashes of brilliance. My only concern is how they develop and their durability. The Yanks, what can you say but good yet useless pitchers. As long as Jeter is at short groundball pitchers like Brown aren't going to be worth s**t, and as long as Matsui and Sheff are in the outfield flyball pitchers aren't much better. 5-6. Astros, Red Sox. Pettite and Lowe are overrated. Clemens, Pedro and Schilling don't go deep into games.
February 20, 200422 yr 1. Yankees 2. Cubs 3. A's 4. Red Sox 5. Astros 6. Marlins (I know you only asked for 5, but since this is a Marlins board, I should at least list where I think they are)
February 20, 200422 yr I would take Marlins staff over any staff including Cubs.Sorry Cubs fan but Maddux is not same pitcher but he is solid. Well, you'll never be a GM, that's for sure. It's one thing to be a homer, but to not acknowledge that the Marlins rotation is a little shaky at the bottom while the Cubs, Yankees, and A's (even the Red Sox and Astros) have legitimate 5-deep rotations is another.
February 20, 200422 yr Cubs, Yankees, Oakland no one else is close Cubs = Fall apart under pressure Yankees=Not yet proven Oakland=Always go down on the first round of the playoffs Boston=Bambino Cursed Marlins=Return of the Kings (Perform when it matters the most) :notworthy
