  1. Why hasn't Philly won a championship, then? The Eagles and Philadelphia are a huge market. And you still haven't commented on how you can be a fan if you think it's truly fixed. If only big markets win, how do you explain/justify the 49ers, New England and Baltimore winning Superbowls over the Giants, Jets, Oakland, Dallas, Philly, Green Bay?
  2. The NFL is really rigged.....like I predicted....I think it'll be the Colts over the Saints in the Super Bowl. Everyone will be on the Saints and Vegas will really pull in the cash with the Colts winning. Then why be a fan? You still haven't explained this, probably because it doesn't make any sense. Face it, Jacksonville isn't nearly the "NFL team" Miami is. So, they'd never have them win a Superbowl. Besides, if it was truly fixed the Colts would have won the last two Superbowls, since P. Manning is the NFL's goldenboy. So, how is it fixed, again? Aside from your team not being able to make the playoffs in the good conference?
  3. Edgar Davids to FC Dallas and Reyna to Red Bull NY is on the herizon. And Zidane and Ronaldo could be on the way soon. I really hope your right but do you have a link? It's pure speculation at this point. Plus, those guys interest is peaked because they think they'll get Beckham-type money, which I don't know if that will be possible in every case. Lets be generous and say they get 10000 season tickets (YEA RIGHT!). Lets say season tickets run for 1000 dollars. That's ten million. They better be making a hell of a lot of merchandise sales and they better be getting a hell of a lot of sponsorships. How an MLS team can afford that kind of salary (10 mil a year) is beyond me... Soccer season tickets going for 1,000 dollars? Oh, man, you made my day! I'd go lower to mid hundreds. I'd say that in LA it's more than 1,000. There's like 1.8 billion Mexicans there. Even though they're relatively poor, they would pay more than 1,000 because they're so soccer crazy. Plus, teams make money on marketing and TV deals, which are sure to rise. Most NFL teams don't get 1,000 dollars a year for season tickets. Doesn't mean it isn't like that in some places. Anyways, I went to a Galaxy game when they played the Crew a few years ago, know how much is cost, by chance? 10 bucks. Now, these weren't the greatest seats in the world, but the highest price I saw at the time was 27 dollars.
  4. That Dallas Clark catch, and it was a catch, was AMAZING. In joor face, Ravens!
  5. Not only is this ridiculous BUT, it's also hilarious. I hope it's true!
  6. I'm loving this Colts/Ravens matchup. Colts can't score 'cause the D is too good and the Ravens can't score because they suck on offense.
  7. Oh, and Beckham got benched by his Real Madrid coach. Said since he signed his contract that they can't trust him and so he can practice with the team but he won't let him play.

  9. So did we ever get a link? The grammer and spelling look suspicious I got it off the Buccaneers message board. I asked for a link, but nobody ever posted one. Because there isn't one. I took the five minutes it took to look up this "information" and it doesn't exist. At least not on ESPN.com or in any of their insider stuff. Count me out.
  10. Pan's Labyrinth is a 2006 film. Not in it's release date here. Get off his case. If someone is going to make such a bold claim, it should be made fairly. In any circle in the United States carry-over wide releases are not considered 2007 films. Why be a turd about it? It's not that big of a mistake. Christ, what a girl. And the instance in which you used fair doesn't make any sense. Because it wouldn't be an unfair statement otherwise. Stupid word choice. Quit acting like the ignorant but cultivated authority on everything movies, clown.

  12. wow that would be pretty crazy. Poor Cleveland Actually, he would work wonders for Cleveland. Get a line, then we'll talk. Even Vick can run away from the multiple down linemen that break through the holes in the Cleveland d-line. Thing is, Cleveland doesn't have any WR's, they've got a decent TE who only shows up 35% of the time, they've got no good RB's. Their Free Agency philosophy, which they're using to rebuild the team, has totally failed. I only see Vick adding to this. I don't see Vick making it through the grind of the AFC North unscathed, either. Of course, this is pure conjecture, considering this is the only source I've actually read this information.
  13. Quick, somebody call Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck. I would rather see Liv Tyler show up at my door. Can she come in that lord of the rings costume? Nerd.
  14. I'm skeptical. It'd just be another in a string of Browns FA busts, anyways.
  15. Superman will save us. Unless it's a kryptonite asteroid! Then we're f***ed.
  16. I dunno, this looks like a bunch of young actors trying to break into the biz and look cool while doing it. Doesn't look like my cup of tea.

    Roy Hall, FTL

Wouldn't have mattered if Ginn was in the game or not, with the way the offensive line played. How you gonna' hit your deep threat when you're getting pressured after two seconds?
  18. I haven't read one reason as to why, that makes sense, that fighting should be banned. You're assuming brutes can't play hockey. They earn their spot, just like anybody else. Fighting is hockey tradition. Period. Getting rid of it waters down some part of the game and changes it from it's roots. I don't think eliminating fighting is the answer. You want to fine cheapshot goons? I'm fine with that. Doesn't mean everyone who fights is a cheapshot goon, either.

    TO Publicist Fired

question...why does anyone care? ESPN take a f***ing hint...EVERYONE HATES TERRELL OWENS...STOP SHOWING HIS DUMBASS ON TV everytime the man drains his lizzard It's because everyone hates him they do it. Folks want to see him fail. Guarantee that "Terrel Owens suicide watch/drug overdose" was the highest rated sh*t of the season. I wish it'd go away, too, but I can't seem to avoid this crap.
  20. The only purpose I can really see to the fighting is what Buckeye mentioned...that these smaller fights prevent bigger fights from erupting. But then again, do they really? We're all familiar with the real fights...when even the opposing goalies get involved...and I've seen dudes emerge bloody from fights. I'll be honest...I don't get it. I think it detracts from the game, and serves as a point of ridicule towards the sport for outsiders, making them less likely to embrace it. To me, the fights are never that interesting to watch. Two guys spin in a circle, while holding to the other guy's jersey with one hand, and landing blows with the other. Just play some damn hockey. But I seem to be in the clear minority here, so I will just go on not getting it. Lots of guys have followings or are in the league by virtue of the fact that they're tough guys. I don't know why fighting would "turn anybody off," I mean if they don't like fighting why would they like hitting either? And I definitely don't want to get rid of hitting. For the same reason we like big hits in football, but don't like to see the teams or players get in fights. Unless I'm alone on this one too. Hitting is part of the game; fighting is not. And also, maybe if you removed a bunch of the guys from the league whose sole purpose is to fight, you'd get more skilled players in there, and maybe that would lead to more skilled hockey being played, and maybe that would lead to more excitement from the actual sport and also to more fans for the sport. Bad assumption. You're assuming these guys are out there, and they're just not. And, even if they were, teams cannot afford to pay them what they're worth if they're so good. Hence you have the 3rd and 4th line tough guys. Fighting is a part of hockey. Anyone who says it isn't cannot be a fan of the sport. I'm 50/50 on fighting itself, because sometimes it's a waste of time (but the average fans/fans of that player still love it). However, I've proven that it has it's point. There have been fights that have gotten entire teams back into games, hell I've seen fights get teams to play way better than they are. It CERTAINLY serves it's purpose. As long as they keep it civil, which it pretty much is, I don't have a problem with it.

I don't know why fighting would "turn anybody off," I mean if they don't like fighting why would they like hitting either? And I definitely don't want to get rid of hitting. Plus, some of the most popular guys on some teams are fighters. I know Shelley has his own little following in Columbus just because he's the resident badass. For at least two years he was probably THE most popular (sadly; because I think he sucks, but he did get in a fight which lit a fire under the team's ass against Anaheim IN Anaheim in a game we would go on to win, so...). I don't necessarily think the one on one confrontations STOP the bigger fights, however. I just think it's more civil and you have less of the bench-clearning brawls in hockey (not that they don't happen).
  22. Fighting, while lame a lot of the time, still serves a purpose on occasion. Plus, for the most part it's "civil." Meaning, unlike the NBA, 99% of the time, when guys fight you don't have the benches clearted and all that running around, dude acting crazy, dude talking trash, dude throwing stuff into the crowd (virtually impossible in hockey), dude throwing bitch-punch(es) bulls***, and it's decided by the two fighters ahead of time.
  23. Kolton Mahoney, 14, was shocked when he put the Madden NFL 07 game in his new Xbox 360 console Christmas day and an explicit image popped up on his television screen, according to the STANDARD-EXAMINER. "This is definitely not Madden," he said recalling his first thought after seeing the image. Kolton turned off the Xbox and notified his parents, Linda and Tim Mahoney, who viewed the video game and were equally stunned. "It wasn't a pretty scene," Tim Mahoney said. The Mahoneys have been in contact with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force sponsored by the Utah Attorney General's Office, which will attempt to determine how porn ended up on the video game, Lt. Rhett McQuiston, an investigator with the agency said Friday. Like the kids who hook up with the hot teachers.....WHY DID THE KID TELL HIS PARENTS AND RETURN IT!! Because he's gay, or it was gay porn. Only sensible reason. Or he really wanted to play Madden.
  24. I really love how his daddy(Eli's) manipulated his way into NY and San Diego is still in the playoffs and the Giants arent. Sure Coughlin gets the boot but half the Giants team needs to go also. what's even funnier is that TO's season is over while the Eagles (with Jeff Garcia of all people as their QB) are still in it Not that funny. I hate the fact that the Eagles fan I know brings that guy into every conversation. Or, people who don't know football at all find a way to ask about that guy. Please, let's just erase his name from our vocab for another 8 months or so?
  25. Well once again the Giants show their true colors. Once again the defense comes up lame when the game is on the line. Everytime the offense scores a tying or go ahead touchdown or field goal, the defense lets the opposition march right back down the field and score with ease. It has been like this all season. Giants defense is just pathetic! The offense is just as bad thanks to Eli Manning. I don't believe Eli Manning has what it takes to succeed with the Giants. This team is the least disciplined team I have ever seen. Coughlin must go! And they play in the NFC. Which sucks.
