    Ghost Rider

It was better than I thought it would be. Marvel usually does a pretty good job with big screen adaptations of their comics (lets forget about Daredevil and Hulk) and this was no exception. It wasn't great like the Spider-Man films, but it was still enjoyable. You just named 50% of their movie franchises as sucking and then said Marvel does a pretty good job. Kind of weird. Biggest opening for president's day weekend ever. I guess Americans like paying to see crap. :shrugs As long as the comic book nerds flock to see these movies they'll continue making this "crap." Comics sell in the thousands. If a title is real strong selling in the hundreds of thousands isn't unheard of. There aren't enough comic book nerds in America to make movies like Ghost Rider a success. The average, stupid, beer-swilling, American Idol watching, American idiot saw this flick, too, don't lie.

    The Number 23

i really will never fathom why people will star in crappy movies just so they stick around when they could remembered for all their good stuff from the past. okay well i guess now that i think about it, of course they do it for money but carrey should have at least stuck to a comedy. Carrey's career has been on a downward slide for awhile. It's obvious to me he can't ready a script to save his life and commands so much money that it's really tough for him to do projects with enough people to make it good. There are exceptions, because obviously he got lucky and hit a high mark for his career with Eternal Sunshine and I thought A Series of Unfortunate Events was okay. But, there's no reason for the Majestic and a lot of the other sentimentally hokey crap he's done. Really, I don't think his comedies were all that great either. They're kind of like Adam Sandler's movies, where they're just watered down versions of his earlier material.
  3. Just an elongated version of the show. Saw it last night. It was okay, but that's it. Not enough Junior for my liking. Also, I kind of thought the cameos were bad. That Tony Montana impression was the worst thing ever and kind of pointless until the whole immunity line.

Am I the only one... The more ads and trailers I see the less and less I want to see this movie. I love Frank Miller, but I don't think there's one spoken line of dialogue in the commercial that ISN'T screamed at the top of someone's lungs. If the whole movie's DIALOGUE IS LIKE THIS!!!! I'M NOT SURE I COULD TAKE IT!!! I was really hyped up about this, but I keep seeing stuff for it and seeing stuff for it. I don't know.
  5. it is HORRIBLE here...20 degrees, ice pellets, and schools not canceled WTF!?!? 20 degrees isn't too bad.
  6. WildMarlinMan isn't even rational at this point. Screw it. I'm not reading anymore of his crap. *puts on ignore* Seriously, how anyone at this point could justify Bush as working hard or a good president, that's funny.
  7. To say "I'd rather have Bush over Kerry" at this point is ludicrous. Because nobody knows how it actually would have played out. It's flat wrong to assume you know what would have/could have happened when the dude didn't get elected. I could care less about Kerry now, and am more worried about the American people for electing Bush twice. Especially when his first term sucked and was categorized by doing nothing except making lame excuses and including us in some stupid war.
  8. here's something i don't get. during hurricane season, the national media makes it seem like the areas getting hit are far away and make it a much bigger deal, like it's the end of the world, while in blizzards, it looks more like a local story that isn't really too much of a big deal and everyone will survive. can someone answer that question for me please? thank you. but seriously, blizzards aren't fun. stay safe up there. The local news makes it look like "OMGSCARY!" but people live through it every year. It's not a big deal. I guarantee you, as bad as I've got it right now, it's 10 times worse in Wisconsin and those people don't even flinch.
  9. Wars are ALWAYS unpopular That's completely and totally incorrect. Throughout history, during the times of war, Presidents have always been hated. Yet, their legacy is usually pretty good. WildMarlinMan doesn't care what people think and yet consideres democracy a good form of government. Problem? Whatever, kill more American troops. That's your business if you believe that. Hell, let's do it now and get a three war front going! Even if one isn't technically a war. You're entitled to your beliefs, but not your own facts. And Catholicism has to be one of the most ludicrous beliefs I can imagine. Ok lets try to make this black and white since you don't understand anything but killing troops. lol THIS IS NOT ABOUT KILLING TROOPS....THIS IS ABOUT MAKING THE WORLD A SAFER PLACE FOR THE FUTURE. Here's something you can understand....There are bad guys in this world. For an example for you, police officers have to combat bad guys- It is there job. Our military has to combat bad guys- it is there job. They don't get great benefits and paid for nothing. You people never look at the future of the world. Terrorists want to take over the world. We need to be on the offensive- otherwise they plan and if you thought 9/11 was bad, lets see terrorists with suitcase nuclear bombs in the future! Oh yeah...... Isn't like 60-70% of the world's population Catholic.....just shows that you really don't know what you are talking about. Really makes you look like an outcast. What a joke that statement is....should be suspended for it. :banghead Catholicism is a joke. 60-70% is kind of high. REALLY high. You have no facts to back that up. Just like you can't have anything but beliefs to back up denying gays marriage. Which is ridiculous that you would take the bible as literal word when things from the bible almost never LITERALLY happen and you weren't alive enough to know that they happened, and AREN'T some extravagant lie perpetrated on you and the rest of the 30% of the Christian world. Oh, and here's a graph: Here's a website you should also read up on: http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html Get educated, 60-70% of this world isn't crazy you dumb a**hole. I have no problem with having beliefs, but denying people rights based on different beliefs, especially since that's the very tennants against which our country was FOUNDED (exclusion of those who are different), is ridiculous. You cannot prove, outside of your own moral belief, that gay marriage is wrong or should be illegal. You can only say, "I believe," and try and force those beliefs on others. It's akin to me saying that Catholic fundamentalism should be outlawed because I think it for the retarded and thus we don't want retarded folks so we're going to make it illegal and ban it's practice. Exact same thing. No one has the power to suspend me for my crazy beliefs, one of which includes my belief that you're an idiot, just like no one can suspend you for your crazy beliefs. And, genius, wars include troops dying. Our military force is thinned enough as it is, but if you want to thin the herd and think a war with Iran means little no casulties, then KEEP living in fantasyland. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. And, since I'm bored it's time for a Christian lesson from the board agnostic. WWJD. Jesus sees to gays get married. Does he condemn them to death and say you're banned to hell, gays aren't allowed to marry? Hmmmm, doesn't seem to go with Christs lesson of love and tolerance. You'll only find that old-world sentimentality in the first half of the bible, the old testament, where the dark and vengeful God, who by the way f***S with GOB and kills innocent people to make a point, says gays are going to hell, etc. You cannot make legislation based on moral belief. There's a difference between morality and legislation as stated earlier. Moral does not equal law. Because we have laws that are moral and laws that aren't. If you can't understand that, then we cannot discuss, because I don't think you have the brain to comprehend anything that I say.
  10. 11. The ice storm from two years ago was worse. But, then again, it's also going to snow around here in Columbus UNTIL Monday.

    The Departed

Nicholson is more redundant than either of them. Agreed. Nicholson is just more entertaining to me than the others. But, yeah he could get an Oscar nod for taking a dump. I'd like to see him take a chance on some Indy film, but he wouldn't ever.
  13. I think if we take away prisoner's rights then voting should be included in that bunch. Commit a crime, then screw you.

    The Departed

He's the greatest living actor. Case in point. Is he a good actor? Yes. The greatest living actor? If you believe that, it's your prerogative. I'd take Pacino over DeNiro....both awesome though. See, I think Pacino is WAAAAY overrated. He does a lot of the same things from role to role, kind of like Dustin Hoffman. It depends what kind of actor we're talking about. Because overall, DeNiro's close, but nobody transforms from role to role like Gary Oldman. It's just a shame I don't like most of the movies he does. But, he's probably the best at disappearing inside of a character. I wanted to pick it up, but this damn snow is keeping me from doing anything.
  15. Heh. The Chinese government is REAL buddhist. That's comedy. I'm glad I don't live there. Thats Thailand, but I guess I'm splitting hairs here. You're correct. I was wrong.
  16. I love the republican revision of history where Clinton failed to get Osama even though he was turned down by Congress, etc. first. que??? A lot of people may not remember this, but Clinton fired missiles at what we suspected was his Al Queda hideout. Killed something in the neighborhood of 22 people, many of which were Al Queda and the Afghans got all pissed off at us. Clinton wanted to keep going after him, but Congress in their infinite wisdom decided to focus on Monica Lewinsky. So, all the problems with Afghanistan and Osama went out the window and all we heard about was Monica, Monica, Monica because a blowjob became more important than capturing terrorists. All the terrorist stuff was swept under the rug and as we only heard about morality and the president.
  17. Heh. The Chinese government is REAL buddhist. That's comedy. I'm glad I don't live there.
  18. I actually laughed out loud at going to war with Iran. It's not even concievable. Especially considering our problems now in Iraq and Afghanistan. The people wouldn't have it. The Ronald Reagan response made me laugh even harder. People around here want to blame Clinton for Osama and yet forget Reagan and Hussein. Hell, we wouldn't be in Iraq now if it wasn't for that a**hole. Open your eyes.....it's a legit question. No ifs and or buts....We can not let Iran have nukes! So, after Iraq and Afghanistan you want to go and kill more troops? Thanks for caring about American lives! Here, I'll simplify it: A vote for another potential warmonger in office is a vote against the troops. It would follow too soon on the heels of Iraq, period. Remember how pissed off people were after Iraq I? Well, Iraq II isn't even over yet and ALREADY people are pissed off. I don't think they would be willing or ready to send our kids back into the fray like that. I'm not sure how anyone can say Global Warming doesn't exist. Any scientist with any sort of credibility will say it is true. The question is how much the human effect is. There hasn't been enough time to measure whether it's due to humans or it's natural. That's the argument. The only people you ever hear from are the global warming guys, but there's a large number of skeptics. Not that it's the be-all, end-all of the argument, but check out Penn and Teller's first season of bulls***. There's a skeptic's treating of global warning and a lot of good information presented for the skeptic's case. Plus, if you're not a scientist, you're honestly not qualified to say it's either true or false. And, at this point, I don't think there's enough evidence to fully support the theory, YET. Doesn't mean there won't be tomorrow, or in 7 year's time, but right now it's close but still not there yet.
  19. Hell, we wouldn't be in Iraq now if it wasn't for that a**hole. haha ya right I'm sorry, to what part are you responding? I need to you to be more literate. Also, I'm skeptical as to how many people on this board were actually alive and old enough to remember Reagan anyways? I was an 80's baby, but have severe doubts at least 6 or 7 people on this board were alive enough then to realize how bad things were under Reagan.
  20. I actually laughed out loud at going to war with Iran. It's not even concievable. Especially considering our problems now in Iraq and Afghanistan. The people wouldn't have it. 21. Its too bad Clinton missed his opportunities to kill Osama (treated it like a law enforcement issue)... that fact will never be forgotten. End. Fact: Like that time he went to Congress and asked for help and they flat out turned him down? END. Keep reading Bill O'Reilly books, and believing everything FOX News tells you, though. It's a NO-SPIN ZONE! Of course they're going to play up "a vote for a Democrat is a vote for terrorism" card. Just wait, I really expect this to be one of the dirtiest races for the presidency ever. I mean, the Republicans have to follow a f*** up like Bush and they've already got that smear spot, so of course this is the best they could come up with. How about the great job Bush has done not only fighting the terrorists and finding Osama, but actually finding a way to MULTIPLY willing future terrorists with his awesome "plan" in Iraq? Guess he forgot that portion of his "I've got big Australian cajones and always tell the truth, mate," philosophy on speaking to the press. Sorry man but I understand Bush is not the greatest President of all time, however he's light years better than Kerry or Gore would have been. So sadly enough, Dems couldn't come up with anything better than a lying Kerry or a nut job in Gore. Now they have another flip flopper in Hillary and a candidate Obama (who seems like a nice guy) but will never win the election because of his race and inexperience. Giuliani will tear apart both Hillary and/or Obama in a debate even if they were together. oh and by the way.....terrorists do want a Democrat in office. Think....Clinton should have had Osama. Obama owned him by saying that he should put his money where his mouth is and call up 20,000 more Australian troops to send to Iraq. Howard's son, unsurprisingly, worked for the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign. yeah I loved that line too. Obama is fun to listen to. Dang I miss Accord, he would make a comment here about how the Australian prime minster is right somehow Yeah Obama is fun to listen to if you want a candidate for President who has no experience and honestly will not beat Hillary and all her money. You are aware that when it's all said and done Bush II will go down as one of the worst presidents, right? Other than being a warmonger and doing ABSOLUTELY nothing he'll be the stem of future problems in the mid-east, not to mention he didn't find Osama with six years to do so. But, continue living in fantasy land. Not the greatest, correct. But to say he's better than ANYONE "would have been" is absolutely ridiculous because it's damn near impossible to predict how they would have done/what they would have done under the circumstances. Plus, I didn't think Kerry was the greatest, but a lame duck over Bush would still be an upgrade. I'm amazed anyone can rationally justify this guy's presidency on any level at this point other than the fact that the second time he was actually nominated to office by the people. I love the republican revision of history where Clinton failed to get Osama even though he was turned down by Congress, etc. first. But, it's all good, you're going to vote republican come hell or high water anyways. Simple slogans like "A vote for democrats is a vote for terror" always work for idiots.
  22. Marty is a choker. He's a 10-12 win guy almost every season who can't win in the playoffs. Period.
