Survival toolkit
Great additions! I thought we ran out of rope, but hopefully Jeb Bush will tell his bro to free up the federal reserves for us.

"Our lack of support forces Marlins' hand"
Yeah, blame the fans. I'm sure the fact that Huizenga keeping most of the money has nothing to do with the Fish losing money and not being able to afford players. :notworthy

I've had enough.
Its time like these that I wish I was just a bandwagon fan that could simply read the news and say "Oh that sorta sucks" and go on with life. But I'm not, and this is going to suck ass.

"Our lack of support forces Marlins' hand"
Yeah, blame the fans, specially those who have season tickets and give the team a big deposit upfront. Come on, it's pretty obvious he's talking specifically to those who DON'T support the team, which, unfortunately, gets generalized as South Florida as a whole. If you can't tell that he's not talking about the few who have season tickets, then I really feel sorry for you. Obviously I can tell, but I am sick and tired of the generalizations journalists consistently use to blame every Marlins fan as a weak supporter, and I'd imagine that out of all places, people here would realize this too. It's not the fans fault. Hell, I even voted for Carlos Alvarez, who I don't particularly care for, ON THE SOLE REASON he was for building a new stadium.

Should the Marlins Cut Payroll in 2006?
NO Rule #1:

Your 2006 Florida Marlins!
So Cabrera and Willis are traded too? Gimme a break. Why not wait and see what happens? Obviously I will be waiting, and hoping none of this comes true, but for the rest of the year Rotoworld will now be my homepage. :confused

Your 2006 Florida Marlins!
Miggy will be in left before Willingham. I think Willingham may be dealt this offseason. Why keep Cabrera if we're rebuilding? We could get an entire farm system if we traded him. Thats the strategy the FO seems to want.

Your 2006 Florida Marlins!
I wouldn't have any hard feelings towards Joe Girardi if he quit before the season started.

"Beckett dangled as trade bait"
We might as well throw Olsen and Tankersley in there too to complete the death process.

"Our lack of support forces Marlins' hand"
I dont know, i mightbe wrong but I heard Loria even lost money during the 03 season, even though we made the playoffs. Lies. I can see why Loria is frustrated, but chopping up the team is a big step backwards, not forwards. 2006 attendance will take a big hit if they put the Jupiter Hammerheads on the field.

The "Loria Needs To Sell" Thread
Q. With all the rumors swirling about Beckett, do you really think the Marlins will trade him? Don't they need his arm in that rotation to compete? I find this so hard to believe! Dave, Tallahassee, FL 11/20/05 A. Whether or not the trade happens will be determined by what the Rangers are willing to part with. But yes, the Marlins are very serious about wanting to deal him. Judging by all their offseason moves this winter,I don't believe competing is at the top of the team's To Do list. Cutting payroll is. Kevin Baxter 11/20/0 *vomits again*

This Thanksgiving I give thanks
Because he gave us great times the last couple of years and now that he has gone the franchise is beginning to crumble. This week might go down as one of the worst weeks in SoFla sports history along with the 98 firesale and the Dolphins playoff loss to the Jags and Marino's following retirement. :thumbdown

I agree with Josh, this has a surreal feeling to it. Damn this sucks.

Click here if you got tried of watching the Marlins the last couple of
I don't have a huge problem with a youth movement in 2006 involving MLB ready players with a look towards competing in 2007. Giving guys like Hermida, Willingham/Aguila, Vargas, Olsen/Johnson, and Resop larger roles in 2006 is fine with me. However, trading Beckett isn't necessary for this to happen. How do you know that? I would think they tried everything and anything to move Lowell contract without trading a Beckett to no avail. Thats why not moving Lowell last summer could have cost us Beckett this offseason. Yes but last year we were comparing our linup with the Cards and we thought we were WS contenders And so did everybody else in baseball. The consensus pick for the NLCS was Marlins and Cards.

Sox offer for Pierre COULD be...
Pierre > Aguila > Rowand.
-
For everyone criticizing Loria/Beinfest
f*** that, I can be creative too Starting linup: R Andino L Castillo C Aguila M Cabrera Lenny Harris J Willingham Hee Seop Choi Joe Dillon WHAT A CREATIVE LINEUP!!! Look how much money we can save!!! AWESOME!!! :|

yusmier pettit for delgado
We don't need Petit. He's over-rated! His fastball is in the area of 86-88 mph. No thanks. Lastings Milledge? Now we're talking. What do you mean? We have no pitching. Beckett apparently sucks and Willis too. Lets trade our bats since we can outslug anybody even without Delgado. :plain :plain :plain
