Wow, now that is some clutch hitting by Lee.

Marlins vs Pirates---7:05--at PNC Park
Once again we make a scrub pitcher look like an ace. This is so frustrating. :banghead :anon

Worst type of loss?
But, I'd rather be the Red Sox that year, than the Tigers this year. Nobody's going to remember who was on this Tiger team. Bill Buckner's going to have to live with his error for the rest of his life.

Giles to Padres. It's Official.
The Pirates didn't get Nady? They got screwed, unless this Bay kid is a stud.

Current Slump Question
It's everyone's fault. No one is doing things right. Our pitching isn't as good as it was. Our offense is horrible. Urbina and Looper have given up big hits. So it's not just 1 thing.

Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
Just thought I'd throw this question out there... Who would you rather resign....Luis Castillo or Derrek Lee? I'm torn because we need all the power we can get, but Luis is an OBP machine and his batting eye has become very refined...I also think he'd have 4-5 more homers to this point if he hit from the right side every PA. I'd resign Luis and get him to hit from the right side exclusively to try and make up for Lee's homers...that coupled with signing a mediocre veteran 1B might just cover Lee's homers. I think it would be a lot harder to fill the shoes of a table setter that hits way over 300. Than a #6 hitter that hits in the mid-200s and has great power. Also, Castillo's style of play is perfect for the Pro and Lee's style is just the opposite.

It's so great to actually be able to watch a marlins game.

Bobby Bonds dead...
Sad news for baseball and the Bonds family.

Here comes a big inning for the giants.

Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
ahhhhh you jinxed it 1rst and 3rd no outs I know jinxes may seem stupid but it's amazing how many times this has happened to us this year.

Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
I will probaly get heat for this but I believe Willis hasn't had his best stuff since the Atlanta game a while back that we lost in extra innings. He pitched very well against Johnson and the Diamondbacks but since then his control has been off, but he has done very well the last 2 innings.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
Another quick inning for Willis looking very good. The control problems haven't been there the last 2 innings.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
jeez everytime we think we'll have a big inning the last 4 games it seems a dp gets the other team out of a jam.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
well, I think it's safe to say Alex is out of the slump.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
That's just what we needed a nice quick inning for Willis.

Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
This is pitiful...

Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
Good news is though, Willis has been pretty lucky so far today and has been able to overcome the walks, but I don't think he can afford to keep doing that his pitch count is already 65 through 3.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
Willis has lost his great command, and until he gets it back he's only going to be a mediocre pitcher.
-
Marlins @ San Francisco Giants
At this rate Willis will go about 3 innings. His pitch count has been a big problem lately.

Lowell has to step up....NOW!
Everyone needs to step up no one stepped up in the Colorado series.

Arizona Fall League
Also, notice that Stokes and Gonzalez will be reunited. Looks like they're fielding a very strong team there. Milwaukee has some awesome prospects, and also Khalil Greene is on the team.

Arizona Fall League
Baseball America did a piece on the Arizona fall league, and here's a report on the Peoria Saguaros(Whatever the hell that is) the team that the marlins prospects will be playing for. They talk about Stokes and Willingham. Click on the link to get the whole rosters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peoria Saguaros BEST POSITION PROSPECT: Jason Stokes, 1b, Marlins Stokes was slowed early by offseason wrist surgery. He regained his power stroke in the middle of the season, but hasn't finished strong. The Marlins cleared his path to the big leagues by dealing Adrian Gonzalez, whom he will split time with in the AFL, to the Rangers. Stokes' plate discipline has suffered this season and will need to improve as he moves towards Florida. BEST PITCHING PROSPECT: Matt Peterson, rhp, Mets Peterson showed flashes in the past two seasons, but consistency eluded him. He broke through this year, emerging as one of the top prospects in the Mets organization. He's projectable with a live arm and a good breaking ball and was more efficient this year in Class A St. Lucie, though he has struggled with his command in Double-A. BOUNCING BACK: Ben Hendrickson, rhp, Brewers Hendrickson missed about half the season with nagging shoulder soreness, and will be looking to rebound. He works with a solid-average fastball and outstanding breaking ball, but he's been unable to find a consistent groove in the second half. EMERGING PROSPECT: Josh Willingham, c, Marlins Willingham is coming back from a nagging knee injury that shelved him for most of the second half, following his promotion to Double-A Carolina. In addition to making up for lost at-bats, Willingham will continue working on the nuances of his new position. He moved behind the plate last fall in instructional league. The former college shortstop has tremendous power. KEEP AN EYE ON: David Wright, 3b, Mets Wright struggled to adjust to the Florida State League, hitting .200 in May and June, before rebounding to hit .301 in July and finish strong in August. Wright's slump was attributed to overworking himself before games, and the Mets altered his schedule. He topped 30 doubles for the second straight season and was working on reaching 40.
