  1. Yep, I agree that Hite is a better player than Diaz. Diaz is just the superior athlete and was always overhyped a bit....
  2. My comment is simply based on Arroyo's dominance in World Championships including games against the US. I am not saying we should expect too much more from him than usual in the NBA and that is why I mentioned him towards the end of my post. Yes, it is almost humorous to see look at his stats and then see him dominate against the world and I am not saying he will dominate the NBA in the same manner.
  3. Yep, same one.... We all know that stats always tell the entire story....
  4. The Magic will go to the playoffs as a 5 seed or better.....I think and hope...... Fishfan79, you're right, most don't realize the talent this team has. I dont think anybody realizes how good Jameer Nelson is and Dwight Howard of course is known, but his dominance on the boards is amazing. Grant Hill? Healthy maybe? I'm excited about Darko, I think he will succeed but I'm glad Otis Smith is taking a wait and see attitude as far as contract talks are concerned.... Carlos Arroyo is one of the best in the world. I like Garrity, Turkoglu, Dooling, Bogans. I think it'll be an exciting year.
  5. What a heartbreaker in Tallahassee...I just can't stomach it right now. Im never picking FSU in the Pick 'Em ever again. I bought too much into the Doak advantage. They really should have had them, but poor execution (yet again) on offense was their downfall. And ya, that backup QB for BC was playing so well under pressure in the pocket, and everytime he started running the defensive backs let up on their receivers...so he would throw the ball just before the line of scrimmage and they were always wide open. I just couldn't believe it. And that final drive where they got shut down at the 10 yard line was just sickening. That wasn't BC's backup QB. Three plays lost that game for us..... Caz fumble led to 1 yard TD drive.... Roughing the punter that allowed a drive to continue which led to seven and the INT returned for a touchdown.... What a dumb call that was.... Throw a 4 yard out route with 30 seconds left in the half? If you catch it, there is nowhere to run and four yard gains isn't going to get it done at that point...... The morons next to me were yelling for that exact play claiming BC was dropping back and it was wide open and after the play the same two guys were yelling that Jeff Bowden is an idiot.... Had to call them out on that one..... BCs backup QB was never in that game, not sure what you were watching. BC said Ryan would probably not play due to injury leading up to the Clemson game as well and he looked fine out there. FSU prepared all week for Ryan anyway.
  6. It was nothing.. It was just video of the Marlins at Dolphins Stadium for a few minutes and then just a regular Emerill Live show with a country singer who just repeated "Swing batter batter swing batter batter swing" in a southern twang
  7. A strikeout is as much of an out as a groundout, or a flyout, or a foulout. This is a guy who has mammoth power, walks a ton, and would represent a dangerous power option behind Cabrera. Consider that before this year he has only had one year with an OBP under .370. Consider that in what was arguably his worse year, the only Marlin to get on base more often than him was Cabrera, and only Josh Willingham and Cabrera slugged better. In a normal year for him, he would be bar none our 2nd best hitter behind Cabrera. A strikeout can do absolutely nothing for the team but get you one out closer to ending the inning. A groundout and/or flyout can move runners over and drive in a run or set up a scoring chance. Yeah, they both count as one out though, but they are not the same. If you watched the Marlins blow their chances in innings so many times this year you would understand the difference.

On the bright side I had FIU +39 :lol :lol Was that the spread? Really? Link! I really need to know for sure. It's a matter of life or death (well, $20). you know, i'm eager to see what miri, maxx, juanky, pac, and the crew have to say about the incident. So I was there, rooting for UM but not minding FIU doing well for whoever is interested. Here's my recollection of the whole fiasco. I was in row 65 of Section A with three buddies of mine and my girlfriend. Her sister, unforunately for her, was down in Row 19 of Section A with some bum guy. Anyways, here's how it all went down to my eyes. After the second touchdown, making the score 13-0, some players from both sides had a bit of a pushing contest / stare down, which was promptly broken up by the refs after they threw the flag for excessive celebration. The pushing/staring didn't involve any of the players in the celebration so I'm not sure what caused it. Anyways, pretty instantly after the extra point it all started going down. It didn't escalate right away; the fight lingered for a few seconds just between the players on the field as the refs tried to get control. Then both benches simultaneously emptied and players pored onto the field as everyone noticed this wasn't going to be a five second thing. From there, it was amazing and a blur at the same time.....the most notable moment was when an FIU player got body slammed by a UM player in the middle of the whole thing. Now while the fight on the field was cool, the stands got a little messy. The atmosphere was just like a rivalry game as soon as the thing ended. Everyone was standing and chanting. But then the fights began. I didn't see them in utmost detail because I was so high up, but after one broke out in the aisle between Section A and B at least 15 cops jumped over the barricade between the field and the stands to address the situation. After that my friend and I ran down to get my girlfriend's sister and her friend away from all the drama, and as we were a huge rush of police officers stormed up the steps I had just come down as another fight had broken out. We managed to get up without a scuffle as I was wearing my UM hat and we knew basically all of the FIU people in attendance, so it was like safe passage. After that, things calmed down for the most part and the game continued. I think one or two more scuffles broke out but nothing worth writing home about. As far as the impact, it long term will help FIU big time IMO. First off, it's going to add a lot more spice to next year's game. Let's face it, FAU is not a rival. UM.....now that's someone you can hate. Second, FIU is going to get a lot of attention after this. They had played a 7 OT game last week, they just stole away UM's successor to Paul Dee to be their AD, and now they have the balls to punch the big boy in town in the mouth on their very home turf. The footage will be all over Sportscenter and recruits will be watching that footage. While it might not do the best of things for the school's image, it'll certainly do wonders for the name recognition and because of that will help the team get better faster. As far as blake's comments, I'm not going to even let them have a response. FIU can hate Miami, but they can't consider UM a rival. FIU is nowhere close to that. They show up with FAU every week as two of the worst teams in the country. That said, I would like to see FAU and FIU succeed and continue to grow as programs, but they shouldn't get carried away.

Typical Miami ghetto trash.... Says the dude from America's favorite slum. Wow.....PLEASE try to explain this...I can't wait to hear the spin.....Well, If you insist. I've been to a lot of places in my life, and I'd have to say that, without a doubt, Philadelphia is the most disgusting city I've ever been to that's not on the continent of Asia. I'd spin some more, but I'm sure you're quite familiar with the town and its inhabitants. Typical uneducated sh*t.....Just so you know....I was talking about the announcer I think you might be missing the point. I don't care either way, but I am just looking on. You were talking about the announcer who and called him "Typical Miami ghetto trash"... Nobody is debating that.... The point wasn't who you were talking about. But you called the announcer/his comments "typical Miami ghetto trash." You're just stating in a less than roundabout way that it is typical for those in Miami to be ghetto trash. I think that is what upset people.
  10. The O Dome will be rockin more than the Dean Dome because we have the defending champions. I happened to pass by Joakim Noah yesterday, he's like scary and stuff. I wouldn't call him scary. Big guy, yes. I only see him at 2 am though when he seems ridiculously drunk and I let him know that it would be in his best interest to not stand in the middle of Main St.... It's a public service I do....
  11. Interesting that Girardi was voted Manager of the Year by his PEERS. I guess they like his "in game management" and "talent evaluation". better than some of the critics on MB.com Congratulations Joe. That is quite an accomplishment. Good luck in 2007 wherever you may end up. Yeah, I bet his peers were paying close attention to his in game management and talent evaluation. They probably were concerned with this rather than evaluating their own team during spring training and managing their own team throughout the season. Keep on hating bro even in the face of the fact that his peers (men with more baseball knowledge in their big toe then in your whole body) voted him manager of the year. Keep the hate alive :thumbup Im not hating. I'm just discrediting the award. The comparison with the coaches voting for the top 25 was a very good point. Good for him, I hope he enjoys the award. But the fact is, if you think THIS is what proves that any criticism of his in game management and talent evaluation were wrong, you are way off. "I guess they like his 'in game management' and 'talent evaluation'. better than some of the critics on MB.com" Seems like that is exactly your point. My point is, you are making a big mistake if you think other managers are watching the in game management and talent evaluation of another manager during the baseball season.

  13. The Yankees are paying $17M a year on his contract, if they can pick up $3-4M a year, I would do this as fast as humanly possible. Put Cabs at first and ARod at third. What a line up that would be. ARod would flourish in a city where everyone will see him as almost a "god." If a deal like this were to occur, the Yankees would pick up much more than 3-4 million... It would probably not cost us more than 6 mil a year
  14. sounds like Belfour is letting some questionable ones by on the radio.... Another power play coming
  15. Go TIGAS. It'll take some external forces to get FSU to the ACC championship game, but all things considered they still have a chance. They still play Wake Forest, BC and Duke (I think Duke). Meanwhile, the only teams I think have a shot to go undefeated in the ACC or one loss are Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. I definitely tihnk GA Tech makes the 'ship, and we'll just have to wait and see who they face on the other side. Remember last year FSU made the 'ship with 3 conference losses. In my eyes, Clemson is the only team that can wrestle the league away from FSU. But they still have a couple of really tough games on the schedule. Ok a lot of things to say. From your posts after this one as well. We aren't going to the Orange Bowl again and yes, the ACC title game is in Jax. It was great last year. How can you possibly think Clemson is the only team that can wrestle the league away from FSU? NC St is in our division as well and has no conference losses. Is it possible that Clemson loses two more ACC games? Certainly. But we would still need NC St to lose three ACC games as well. This is if we don't lose any more. NC St gets Clemson and Ga Tech in Novemeber but other than that just UNC, Wake, Maryland and Virgina. This year we don't have the wins against teams we could end up tied with so it would take a miracle to go back to Jax. And who is Calvin Jackson?

Of course it isn't on in Gainesville as the TV listings say it should be. And the WQAM.com listen live just stopped working.
  17. So, UF fans claim they weren't booing Leak last week, just the decision to remove Tebow for Leak after Tebow led them down the field. Why not boo the decision to insert Tebow after Leak led them down field?
  18. Was an honest question based on the Michigan and Temple banners and I've seen Cuse mentioned before as well
  19. Nice work by Michigan State.....gutless as usual. Can't wait to beat up on the Spartans. I'm just curious, do you like every college football team other than Michigan St?
  20. Why is he starting? Because at the beginning of the year, Joe G, resident baseball genius, insisted that Brian Moehler should be in the starting rotation. So damnitt, hes going to end the year in the rotation as well.
  21. He wouldn't say publicly that he doesn't want to be here. He wants to look like the good guy here, so he is going to say exactly what he should say. I almost said "he's not an idiot" but I dont completely believe that.
  22. Well, those who refuse to believe anything they hear that doesn't proclaim the greatness of Joe Girardi will continue to just shrug things like this off. And in the case of one, quote from one article and simply create his own information. Many of us here could have put together solid lineups and rotations out of spring training. But somehow Joe G wanted to put together a lineup that most wouldn't joke around with in a video game.
  23. First of all, Florida is SET next year with this freshman QB they got (forget his name) Tebow, Tim. I'm not so sure I'd say they are "SET" next year quite yet. Obviously, he will be their starting quarterback, but I'd like to see him throw the ball in a game situation. Sooner or later, as the competition gets tougher, if they keep putting in Tebow and just run with him, he definitely risks getting hurt. From what I saw of him in practice here, he was missing with his passing quite a bit. I was impressed that he didn't shy away from contact though.
  24. I'm trying to get the fact across that he gets treated like crap here by you guys (because of the dumb posts) and by mr. yankee seaon ticket holder aka Loria. If Loria doesnt like the job Girardi is doing THEN WHY DOESNT HE GO MANAGE? OR GO PUT SAMPSON IN A UNIFORM AND STICK HIM IN THE DUGOUT. Let Joe do his damn job and stop critizing him on everything. If you listened to interviews, you would learn how smart he is and how much he cares. He's done an amazing job. I'm not asking you to take credit away from the front office. I'm not asking you to take credit away from the players. I'm just wondering why Joe receives ZERO credit. All the negative words towards Joe is EMBARESSING. Why are you taking Loria's side? How's that stadium coming along Mr. Loria???????????? this team was supposed to lose about 110 games It's Samson. Loria wanted Girardi here and things obviously haven't worked out. I will assume you're not actually looking for a response when you asked why Loria doesn't go and manage. Again, many here have taken the stance that the fact that ESPN said the Marlins will lose 110 games doesn't mean much. How often are they right? What do they base their opinions on? At the All Star break, ESPN had an analyst on the air say the Marlins are still in need of a second baseman. That oughtta pretty much show you how much they know. It was an "insider" who made that comment.
