  1. Don't forget that a lot of pitchers make it back from TJ surgery early, the projecting time frame is 12-18 months, but the law of averages say that if some make it back and fully up to speed ahead or on schedule, others must take a bit longer. This guy is a stud, im sure he is trying his best, and whoever said to cut him, the guy is making little over the league minimum, if he makes any contribution then he is a bargain. When he is back and healthy he will be a true asset to this team.
  2. Anyone know if we have signed any of our top picks yet?
  3. All I meant was that they traded him for what they needed at the time, not that Choi didnt perform.
  4. For how long had the Marlins longed for that lefty power? They traded Lee for what they thought was a left handed power hitter, and that didnt work out. When another came available they pounced, Delgado has been everything the Marlins expected. I think they made the right calls both times, it was just unfortunate that Choi didnt work out - even so they did get something for him!
  5. Go Fish!! Roll on D-Train!! :notworthy
  6. True, I have never been fortunate enough to see him play, as we dont get minor league games over here. Despite what the media says, what is he really like defensively? Would it be at all possible to play him as a catcher at the Major League level?

Sorry swap left for right field in above post.

Its insane because he is an above average shortstop, not a great shortstop I only hope this move doesnt have the Kris Benson effect and blowup the market. If we were to spend $20 million/4 years on AGon, there is no way to resign Burnett, I think Andino will be our shortstop next year, and with Hermida likely to be in left field, Leiter gone, we would have a pretty decent chance of keeping out of pinstripes with the money we save.
  9. Was also talking about the 2000 draft, which in fairness was good, but still none of the players have made an impact with the Marlins at the major league level. Willingham, Stokes arent there yet and Gonzalez was traded. My point was more that with such a national media reputation for rushing players to the majors, the Marlins clearly havent, and showed in the winter that possibly the focus of the marlins has shifted to a more veteran outlook as opposed to the "young ballclub" it once was, where young players got a prolonged chance to prove themselves.
  10. The draft is over, and the Marlins got a lot of good young arms. However, I was looking at the previous 4 years drafts, and couldnt see any player yet to have broken through into the majors and made an impact. Does this show a problem with the Marlins minor league system, poor scouting, drafting too many high school players or just bad luck? Anyone have any thoughts? PS My exams are over!!!!!!
  11. Quick hits . If the Marlins are considering promoting a Minor League pitcher to fill in for A.J. Burnett on Thursday, Double-A right-hander Yorman Bazardo would be on schedule to throw. Bazardo last pitched on Saturday, collecting a win over Tennessee. The Venezuelan native is 4-2 with a 3.58 ERA. He is on the 40 man roster, and though likely to be kensing, Bazardo has pitched well recently, might be unlikely, but is off the Marlins website. What do people think? Link
  12. What pitcher wouldnt, spacious Dolphins stadium and an outstanding defence behind you. Dont forget, Chad Fox was just about booed out of Boston before he turned it around in 03. Plus the relaxing fun atmosphere cant be a bad thing. I say take him. Keeps him away from the Braves and that magical Mazzone dust!
  13. Wasn't the talk all the same when Karsay was being released, any word on what he is doing now? (Sorry for changing topic)
  14. Johnson seemed to struggle last time out, does anyone know if it was anything to do with his DL trip, or just a bad outing?
  15. probably due to the arms that are down at the moment, and that mota really hasnt had the chance to prove to everyone he can really close.
  16. They already have, the first game I ever watched was the Marlins vs Balitmore midway through the '97 season, when they started broadcasting games in Britain. Catch most normal (afternoon) time games on MLB.tv. GO FISH!
  17. If that is Marlins TV, seems ok on MLB.tv.
