Delgado... say what you will about pierre, but Delgado was definitly not one of the reasons we were underachievers last year Im not saying Delgado contirbuted to our unachieving squad last year, but I am saying that he showed less emotion than any other Marlin player. His lack of intensity, aggresiveness, etc... was something I frowned upon.

I hope Girardi and Cabs don't clash during the season, Miguel has potential to be a top 5 hitter in the Major Leagues, and he is THE most valuable player in Marlins history...

There are better options out than Gathright or dealing with the notoriously stingy Devil Rays. Even if we end up with just a corner outfielder, it will be worth it to keep our top pitching prospects. What happened to the Jeremy Reed talk?? Villone for Reed has been hushed as of late

This isn't a stat fight. It's true that every stat has some worth in context, but when it comes to team defensive stats, defensive effeciency does a far better effort towards defining overall defensive ability than raw totals, fielding percentage, and those related to DIPS (DIPS, CERA, BABIP). I admit it's not perfect, but team defensive stats and few and far between, and DE gets to the point and is rather easy to calculate. :blink:

I think the main part of the Delgado trade was the 41 million dollars. WE HAVE A WINNER!!

Jacobs was the main part. Petit was the throw in.....Unless I'm mistaken, they wanted Milledge and Jacobs? Or was it Petit and Milledge? So many trades, so hard to keep track. :confused Who knows what the Marlins initially proposed, but I dont know how you could consider Mike jacobs a throw-in when he looks to be our 1st baseman of the future. Jacobs is a stud and I doubt the Mets were easily willing to part with him.

I never knew Eric Reed was white until a few weeks ago when I clicked on his name on the Marlins website.. not that it matters anyway, but the way people talked about him being fast, and similar to Juan Pierre I always assumed he was black.. it was quite a shock to see otherwise when you've assumed him to look a certain way for the longest time.. just thought I'd share that useless story with you all back to the topic RACIST!!!!

Which pitching prospect would you rather give up?? Anyone acquired through the trades except for Sanchez. Gathright isn't that good, he's just fast, and speed is seriously overrated when you're a shaky defender and a bad bunter. Before you even look at who you are going to trade for to get him, should Gathright even be traded for?? I mean most things I have read tell me he's severely overrated...
