Had an awesome time at both games. Posted a bunch of my pics from the UM game....didn't have my long lens for the FIU game so didn't really take many pics.

A little help here? Marlins/Mets
You should be able to find a roundtrip ticket for about $100-125 with Spirit. Obviously you gotta keep an eye out for their deals and you should be able to score something in this range.

Marlins 2010 Holiday Pack
For those of you thinking about the new Holiday pack the Marlins are offering, here's some info: *They will be in the lower level, where the Picnic Area used to be (Sections 134, 135 and 138). These seats will be available for individual game purchase as well. *You get one game out of each homestand, but you don't get to pick the game, they have already chosen the games for you. Here are the dates that are valid for this promotion: Friday, April 9, 2010 vs LAD (Opening Night - it's not the same as Opening day, but oh well) Wednesday, April 14, 2010 vs CIN Monday, April 26, 2010 vs SD Friday, April 30, 2010 vs WAS Tuesday, May, 4, 2010 vs SF Thursday, May 13, 2010 vs NYM Monday, May 17, 2010 vs AZ Tuesday, May 25, 2010 vs ATL Sunday, May 30, 2010 vs PHI Wednesday, June 2, 2010 vs MIL Tuesday, June 15, 2010 vs TEX Sunday, June 20, 2010 vs TB Sunday, June 27, 2010 vs SD Wednesday, June 30, 2010 vs NYM Friday, July 16, 2010 vs WAS Wednesday, July 21, 2010 vs CR Sunday, July 25, 2010 vs ATL Tuesday, August 3, 2010 vs PHI Sunday, August,8, 2010 vs STL Friday, August20, 2010 vs HOU Monday, August, 30, 2010 vs WAS Sunday, September 5, 2010 vs ATL Tuesday, September 14, 2010 vs PHI Sunday, September, 19, 2010 vs CHI Wednesday, September, 22, 2010 vs NYM Sunday, October, 3, 2010 vs PIT (Last day of the season) Breakdown: FRIDAYS - 4 SUNDAYS - 8 OTHER WEEK-DAYS - 14 NO SATURDAY GAMES The price of the package is $150 which is not a bad deal, since it averages to just under $6 a game for a lower level ticket, but obviously more than half the games are weeknight games and the majority just like the weekend games - and NO saturday games are included. Just wanted to pass along this info I got from the sales rep.

2009 Postseason Discussion Thread
sort of surprised the way the Rockies blew this series. I think MLB, the networks, and a lot of baseball fans just hope and pray its not LAA vs LAD Why? I wouldn't mind...

Mike Rabelo to play with Licey in Dominican League
My wife is Dominican and we also go down there for the holidays to spend time with some of her family and of course to catch a few games. Licey is definately the most popular team (from Santo Domingo). Their biggest rival are Las Aguilas Cibaeñas. If you ever get a chance, go see Licey play Las Aguilas, it's like Yankees vs. Boston.

Mike Rabelo to play with Licey in Dominican League
The article is in spanish, but basically says Mike Rabelo will join Los Tigres del Licey (Licey Tigers) for their winter season, joining Matt Tuppman as the "import" catchers on the squad. http://dominicanoshoy.com/articulos/articulo/licey-contrata-al-receptor-rabelo/

Any chance the Stadium gets completed early?
The absolute best is super-high prices for a 2011 postseason opening. More likely is opening in time for participation in the 2012 WBC, perhaps for the finals. If I'm not mistaken, the next WBC will be in 2013 and Miami is definately being considered to host a Semifinal or Final round in the new stadium.

Prediction of a lifetime!
This is the prediction of all time! Seattle Mariners TV analyst Mike Blowers predicts a player's first major league homerun. Not only that, he predicted the pitch and the count! Mets Rookies Hazing video (leaving Landshark Stadium)
This is just too funny! Mets players leaving Landshark stadium and boarding the team bus. They were really nice enough to sign some autographs in their "attire" and chatted with some fans. With that being said, I can't wait to see videos/pics of our own Marlins players. Previous pics of our guys have been really funny (Ricky Nolasco as the BK King) Enjoy! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/video/video.php?v=1125776506580

Random Marlins of the Past
Just answered my own question - they did clinch the night before, September 23rd, 1997. On this date, they were six games in front of the LA Dodgers and clinched their first ever post season berth. Check out this pretty neat site: http://www.baseballrace.com/races/MLB-1997-NL-Wildcard.asp

Random Marlins of the Past
BTW, this made me curious and I found the most obscure lineup from any single day that I could: 9/24/97 (wow, an exact 11 years before this tread was made) 1) John Cangelosi - CF 2) Alex Arias - SS 3) Jim Abbott - 2B 4) Jeff Conine - 1B 5) Russ Morman - RF 6) John Wehner - LF 7) Bob Natal - C 8) Josh Booty - 3B Though, at least Leiter was pitching, because not a single one of those guys (remember, Niner had a sh*tty year) were starters for us. Can you imaging getting excited to go to a game before the playoffs and seeing that team on the field? Though you'd probably have gotten over it because that lineup somehow managed to score 7 runs in the first inning. I think you meant Kurt Abbott. Here's the boxscore from that game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MON/MON199709240.shtml By the way, just for the hell of it, does any know what day the Marlins clinched the wildcard in 1997? By the look of that lineup, it seems like it would have been the day/night before!

Mother Of All Watch Threads 9/10
Rockies must lose tonight! Or that's it for 20009 Rockies lost and Giants gave up a go ahead two run homer in the 9th to the Cubs. Let's hope Marmol can close it out.

Fredi spit on the home plate umpire ...
I don't know what that umpire was thinking. I think the only reason he called it a strike was because he called the previous pitch a ball (which looked like a strike). Anyway, umpires are not supposed to do that.
