Conine for Lee
Early votes are interesting. We want Jeff Conine back (even those of us who are D.Lee fans) but first we want bull-pen.

Fun Fact of the Day
On losing teams. Looper can come in with 3 runs and still put the tying or winning run at the plate. Shades of Alfonseca. you may be the only person on the forums who has no confidence in Loop So be it. I'm getting used to your arrogant insults. You don't want to talk baseball, you just want to posit your prejudices. You ain't the boss of nothing. You just want to get in the way of divergent conversation. Don't give up your day job.

Voting for Castillo
After I vote 2 or 3 times, I enter the correct validation key and an error occurs saying "Enter correct validation key before continuing." Anyone else having this problem? Its happened on 3 different occassions now. Benito's winning now just cause I can't vote! Haven't had this problem. Have voted 22 times. After registration, new "validation key" comes up which you must enter before submitting selection and then again before subsequent selections. Sure you know this. If you are on marlinsbaseball.com link, maybe try Marlins Official site link. Don't want to lose your votes!

Fun Fact of the Day
The Marlins rotation has more IP than any other in baseball: 804.1 Stunning fact. Stinging fact. We "all" agreed we had a bull-pen problem (even though we had cause to be optimistic at seasons' start.) DL list of starters hurt. But, I was among many that thought there were those in the pen who would step up. One of my favorites was Tejera. Now, I am scared as soon as we bring in a Reliever. (That includes Looper. He manages to bring the tying or winning run to the plate!) Focus remains clear.

Voting for Castillo
Thought I got away with something when I managed to vote 3 times for Castillo. Now, after Senior Moment has passed, discover we can vote 25 times. Trust my fellow Marlins fans are brighter than me. We have Big Market fans to compete against. Take a few minutes and vote 25 times! (Easiest access for me was LINK cited on Marlins' Official site.

Nasty Tonight!
Wish Dusty Baker was at ProPlayer tonight! But, I BELIEVE the line-up will teach him a lesson! Go Marlins, kick the crap out of him and the Cubs. Now we go.

Marlins discuss Lee-for-Conine deal?
Arnie, were you serious about this? No, not serious. Just frustrated waiting each year for Lee's second-half rally. It was so predictable. If his pay came out of my pocket, I would have him start early in Puerto Rico or somewhere. (You know, I made a joke about Hollandsworth this weekend. Suggesting a swap between Pat Burrell, hitting less than 200 and Hollandsworth. No profanity. Was cut off by the Moderator. Guess I need to change my sense of humor herein.).

Wish we were playing Cubs and Dusty Baker at Pro player tonight.

Marlins discuss Lee-for-Conine deal?
Lee/Conine swap. Interesting. Even financially interesting. Long-time Lee fan (who suggested putting him in Jupiter for first-half of the season, waiting for his customary second-half rally). Gettting impatient. Conine, ten years older than Lee is not the defensive 1B that Lee is (but, then, who is?) But, Conine is an extraordinary athlete. He's a clutch hitter, and this deal reminds me of the Darren Daulton investment. Leadership. Maturity. Talent. And he is still Mr. Marlin.

Pat Burrell, Phil OF & UM Grad
Wrote early this a.m. Posting was there. Now it is not. What's going on with Burrrell? Hitting less than 200. (Last year 37 Home Runs). Needs an eye test? New contact lenses? Then trade him for Hollandsworth (?)
-
Tonights win = HUGE
With Redman on the mound, we have the sense of control and maturity. We can play one inning at a time and know we can (if we have to) win it in the ninth. I pray for 9 innings from Redman because I still distrust the bull-pen. Every one of them. including Looper.
-
Pat Burrell, Phillies OF, UM Grad
Don't follow the Phillies closely, but what the heck is wrong with Pat Burrell? Hitting under 200. (37 Home Runs last year.) Get him an eye exam, corrective lenses and swap him for Hollandsworth. (?)

Fun watching BoSox beat up Yankees
I have no more trouble rooting for the Red Sox with 35,000 obnoxious fans than I do rooting for the Marlins with 9,000 fans showing up. I root for the players, not the fans. I root for the Marlins against everybody. Just feel sorry for the team that playing at home is such a turn-off (with so few fans showing.)

Fun watching BoSox beat up Yankees
Want to see Marlins/BoSox World Series. Rooting for our Marlins. But, right now I love to see BoSox beating up on Yankees! (Don't have to mention that Kevin Millar is hitting over 300, and a fan favorite.) With a consistent bull-pen, we can make it!

Curious but exciting season playing out
I'm scared as hell by Penny. All the talent. No production. (Tired of blaming pitching coaches!) If Penny can't win, and our bull-pen sucks, we are in trouble. Can be corrected. But, must be done now. At least an attempt. And if Penny screws up and still insists on not going to bull-pen, then trade his talented a** out of here.

MVP: July 5th, 2003
Alex Gonzales

July 5 game
Looking for medium stick heroes today. Encarnacion, Gonzales and Lee. We win or lose on the bull-pen. That's not very comforting.

Curious but exciting season playing out
Stiill don't trust Marlins ownership but I think they are now comitted to make a buck, based on performance, not just liquidation. I do sympathize with them, South Florida (nowhere in Florida!) is a good baseball venue. But, a winner breeds success. If they pull this off, they are doing very well!. Know we will show support. Lord knows, we've waited long enough, for a real team and not just a store-front, and we care.

Dontrelle would say no to All Star Start
Talk about "Role Models," ancient history re-visited. So great. And needed.

D Hermanson?
Thanks for up-date on Hermanson. While I hate to fill our bench or bull-pen with "discards," we do need relievers who can go more than one/third an inning. Hermanson can go a few innings. Do we have to go $900,000 for him? P>S> Remember Hermanson as an over-rated hot-dog when he was with us. Now, at age 30, maybe he has learned to pitch, or ready to learn.

FLORIDA MARLINS WATCH PARTY
Capefish, Hoped to contact you regarding Sunday "Watch Party" at Hollywood Ale House. Told I exceeded my marlinsbaseball.com e-mails allowance. Had sent only one today (1st one in at least three weeks), encouraging a member to attend. Bottom-line, I guess, is this legit or should our small group from Boynton Beach and Boca just go locally?

FLORIDA MARLINS WATCH PARTY
Take 95 South, exit on Stirling Road and go east a block or two. Make a right on Oakwood Blvd (also called SW 18th Avenue I think). Keep going south on Oakwood til you get to the Ale House. I'm thinking it'll be on your right, but can't remember for sure. Might be cool to see if we could get a bunch of people from the board to catch a road game at one of these watch parties some time.... We have a small group coming from Boynton Beach and Boca. Hope to meet some "members" there.

Marlins F.O. Comedy
This is the most pointless thread Ive seen in a while, talking about the last outfielder spot out of spring training 3 months later. There was a lot of news reported by those covering Spring Training. (Maybe you were still into football.) Guess what annoys me is the consistent idiocy of the FO. You paid $325,000 for Gerald Williams (even though everyone following ST was in favor of Martin), $9,318,298 for Pudge, and keep Castro on the bench for $300,000. This thread ends for me.
