  1. It's everyone's fault. No one is doing things right. Our pitching isn't as good as it was. Our offense is horrible. Urbina and Looper have given up big hits. So it's not just 1 thing. I agree. And I think it is naive to suggest that one segment of the team is responsible for this slump.
  2. Pudge and Lowell are sitting out today's game, so you'll see a few of those bench players. I like Mike Redmond but, if he's in for Pudge today, I hope he's not batting third or fourth!
  3. #1 Fish Fan, Thanks for the Bobby Bonds picture.
  4. McKeon's big test is now. Our starters need a break, just at the time we need them most. They are young, have played hard but are new to the stress of a play-off race. There is a fatigue factor. Banks, Fox, Mordi, Redmond, Castro need to bring it up a level, and McKeon needs to use them wisely. This is going to be interesting and exciting. But, we need the Bench now.
  5. The Marlins are suffering fatigue, which is normal, and have had the situation exaggerated by the roadtrip to the two best home teams in MLB. Now is the test for McKeon. Our starters need a rest just at the time we need them the most. Banks, Fox, Mordi, Redmond, Castro need to bring it up a level, and McKeon needs to use them wisely.
  6. Good stuff. Thanks.
  7. Good stuff. Thanks, FF
  8. Been there, done that. Tried again the past two days. Nobody wants to "chat." Nobody wants to talk baseball. They just want to "publish" on line to bolster their fragile egos.
  9. I believe Alex problems is all mental. WTF, he steps on the plate with the "oh fuc again, another strikeout" look on his face! Alex is a very good shortstop. Possibly great if we had a shrink on the bench. Since we don't have a resident shrink, give him some time off to re-focus. Use Mordy and Fox. (Fox is over-due to get his stick in action.)
  10. - C/R. Cheap shot. Try focusing on the facts.
  11. You're talking clubhouse leadership for the play-off stretch. That's what I thought a month ago. What leadership comes from a guy who can't field his position anymore and can't hit anymore? He signs autographs? Get real.
  12. C/R, We have better players to bring up. Harris is finished. What a shame. He was a class act. We got him too late.
  13. I mentioned yesterday, in response to a Lenny Harris thread, that he was doing LOUSY with the Isotopes. Thereafter a 'Topes fan blasted him on their Fan Forum. It's fun monitoring their website. Many names that many of us recognize. alburquerquebaseball.com p.s. I was among those who welcomed the acquisition of Harris. Gulp.

I was excited to hear Lenny H would be coming to Albq but it only took one game for me to come back down to earth. He seriously can't field and through the 8 at bats I saw, he looked like a traffic cone at the plate. Now, Chad Allen on the other hand - he can make some noise. Consider Lenny Harris with 20 plus AB's! Nothing. He can't make it in AAA. Was an interesting move for us (I approved) but it didn't work. Forget him.

Familiar with the talents of Lenny Harris, I have followed him daily since he joined the Isotopes. He has been LOUSY. No way we bring him up. Period. He's finished, trying to capitilize on his past reputation. (Berardino's article was an inaccurate insult to all of us. Harris is "swinging good." What total BS!
  16. Good report. Thanks. I'd bring up Abe Nunez now. We are going to need some new legs in the outfield. It's going to be a tough stretch for our starters. Who do we send down? Almanza 'til September (at least).
  17. I still think you can't drop Mordy, for experience and clutch reasons. So I don't know who would go down. Hell, I'm still intruiged by the Lenny Harris "situation". Will he be here for the playoffs or not? Let's just go with the tide, see where it takes us. I agree (as I said above). Been tracking Lenny Harris with the 'Topes. Not at all impressive. Can't imagine we will see him.
  18. Todd Zeile was quality and still is a valuable veteran. A month ago I would have said grab him. Now I think Banks, Mordi and Fox can handle it. If somebody gets injured we can bring somebody up.
  19. i dont understand what you are trying to say Arnie? you want the Marlins to play dirty? I want them to play hard, like the 7th game of the Series. You know Ramp I don't think you've ever played pro sports. My point is we don't have the (Braves) luxury of just playing baseball. We have to ramp it up a bit (pardon the pun). If you were covering second doubling me up I would take you out so drastically that I might be thrown out of the game. And you'd be out, too. But, you wouldn't get the double play.
  20. Last night, our talented, enthusiastic players received a wake-up call. They have to get nasty and play Play-Off ball. Let the spikes rise. Good sports? Of course. But, Gentlemen? Hell no! Take it to them like it was the 7th Series game. And I think McKeon is going to be correctly impatient. Now, all they need is fans in the stands!
  21. I think our talented, very enthusiastic, players are going to get nasty. Last night's loss was a wake-up call. Play-off mentality is necessary. They've done good... now they will get nasty. I love it.
  22. I'm sure Mordi wasn't trying to be mean. He's a 100% team player and a considerate guy. Even so, what he said was correct. D-Train can nickname Mordi anything he wants, for his own personal use. He had no business instructing reporters to use it in the columns. That's exactly what he did. He was out of line doing that.
  23. Thanks for both articles! Good stuff.
  24. Tejera - Urbina - Looper
  25. PB Post has answered my "Where is Lenny Harris" question posted herin this week. He arrived Albuquerque on Tuesday. 'Topes mgr was told to use Harris 'mostly at first base." p.s. Harris drove in 'Topes only run yesterday with a single in the 9th. He played first base.
